These are the best trainers in Austin region. Central Texas has a huge gap when it comes to excellent horse trainers for hunter/jumper etc. thus is the only stable in Central Texas I would recommend.
Our daughter just finished her first week at Switch Willow. She was in heaven at the stable and left every day with a smile on her face after riding and spending time around the horses. She quickly learned all their names and talked about them the entire way home. We felt she had plenty of riding time, and when she asked for more challenging lessons, Wendy was amazing at accommodating her to make sure she was happy. We’re so thankful to have found this beautiful place.
We love Switch Willo! My daughter is 7 and has done the winter and summer camps and the horsemanship classes. She learns so much. from how to take care of the horses and brush them out, to how to properly ride and barn safety. She loves the camps. They have scavenger hunts and talent shows and in the summer there’s a pool to swim and cool off. The staff are all lovely and excellent communicators. The staff really care about our children and their growth both as a rider and as a person. The best part about camp and horsemanship class are the horse shows where the children demonstrate their riding skills and receive ribbons and specific awards. My daughter has become a confident rider and enjoys building on those skills each time she returns to Switch Willo. My son is 4 and can’t wait to join soon too!
My daughter did a week of camp at Switch Willow over the winter break and she had an absolute blast. The counselors were great and she learned how to trot and jump in 3 days! 10/10 would recommend. We will definitely be back.
Amazing camp experience for the kids. Riding every day, fun activities, outdoor time that is so rare these days. The most important thing is the staff who are so caring and focus on values based learning as create true team experience. Thank you SWS!!
