I enrolled my child at Sylvan hoping to get real academic support, but after months of sessions and paying $71 an hour, her progress actually declined. Her latest DIBELS school assessment came back lower than when she first started Sylvan, despite being told she had “mastered” certain skills. A reassessment outside of Sylvan confirmed she made very little improvement, which was extremely disappointing. The recent staffing changes also caused major issues. My child struggled to connect with tutors due to high turnover and even left sessions upset. She eventually told me a tutor was being mean to her, which was the final red flag. Between the lack of progress, inconsistent staffing, and my child’s emotional discomfort, I decided to withdraw her. I had high hopes for Sylvan, but the results and experience did not match what was promised.

Sylvan has been great for our daughter. She has gained confidence in math and in her ability to learn from mistakes. They are also very responsive and easy to correspond with via text. Monthly meetings with a specialist keeps us apprised of her progress and our ROI.

Sylvan has really helped our child accelerate their reading comprehension. The tutors are really kind and pay attention to the questions from the kids to help them learn. It seems to really resonate with Wesley and we’re seeing real progress in his reading confidence.

My daughter has been attending Sylvan Learning Center for about six weeks now, and it’s been a truly wonderful experience. I’m already seeing positive progress, and the teachers are attentive and supportive. The calm and quiet atmosphere at the center really helps the kids focus and creates a perfect environment for learning. Everyone at Sylvan is kind and positive, and I’m so happy we found such a wonderful place for my daughter. She loves going there and looks forward to every class.

My son has been attending the Sylvan writing program for a few months, and his writing skills have improved noticeably. He really enjoys the small class size, which allows him to get more individual attention from the teachers. Compared to other tutoring centers, he genuinely enjoys going to Sylvan.
