This is an excellent physical therapy facility. I worked with Dr. Fabrizio on a hip issue. He is extremely professional and highly competent. Once the pain was under control, Dr. Fabrizio provided relevant exercises to strengthen the surrounding muscles which had weakened. After 4 weeks, the hip issue was resolved. I highly recommend Dr. Fabrizio and his colleagues at Symmetry. I plan to follow up with maintenance check-ups.
I’ve been seeing Tessa for 9 months and I highly recommend her and this practice. I unfortunately have a variety of physical issues for which I’ve sought therapy: chronic headaches and neck pain, chronic knee pain, and neurological and overuse symptoms in my hands and feet. Over the last three years, I’ve seen five different physical therapists, and I’ve learned that your average PT clinic can more or less handle the most basic sudden injuries (like “oops I kicked the wall and now my foot hurts”) but if you’re dealing with something complicated or chronic like I am, it makes a huge difference who you work with. Tessa has helped me far more than the other 4 therapists I’ve seen, and she’s even solved physical problems I didn’t even know were solvable. What sets Tessa apart from my previous therapists is that she has tremendous technical depth and she also listens to how my body responds and uses that information to adapt treatment. Other therapists that I’ve worked with would treat the problem by the book with a generic protocol and then they’d be stumped if my body didn’t react the way the book said it would. Either 1) the treatment would provoke my symptoms to get worse long-term, or 2) symptoms would fail to improve for months longer than they expected them to. In either case they’d insist that we continue with the same perceived etiology and treatment plan, or they’d give up and tell me there’s nothing more they can do. Tessa starts with better and more nuanced ideas for treatment. And then if treatment isn’t going as expected she adapts. If treatment is provoking symptoms, she might try something milder or something else that achieves the same goal (and she’s come up with some surprising and surprisingly effective ideas here); and if treatment isn’t yielding the progress she expects, she might investigate to to see whether there are other physical issues causing it, and through that process she has found a few mechanical issues on me that no other therapist has, and she’s solved them too.
I chose Symmetry Physical Therapy initially because it was in close proximity to my job. I was hoping that it was at least descent. I had rotator cuff surgery 6 weeks prior and needed to follow up with PT. I met Dr. Tessa who was turned out to be just who I needed. Dr. Tessa is kind, extremely knowledgeable, and has a great bedside manner. During my sessions, I felt supported, cared for, and heard. I progressed under her care. Also, she has a wonderful personality. It sounds cliche, but she's definitely "a ray of sunshine." She'll makes you feel like family and not just a patient. She's awesome! In the end, Symmetry Physical Therapy was a perfect choice, because Dr. Tessa sees...you.
My one wish would be to take a Tessa with me wherever I go. Overall the whole team at Symmetry is great. Friendly and kind. To find a PT that has the skill set of Tessa is very hard. Her knowledge and expertise has helped me feel confident enough with my back to manage most of it on my own, with an opportunity to visit her for some upkeep. You won’t find another Tessa in Miami. Or at minimum you will struggle.
Fabrizio truly worked a miracle on my knee. I was struggling even to stand, but thanks to his treatment I can now carry out my daily activities normally. I’m very grateful for his care and professionalism, as well as the kindness of Tessa, Jose, and Lissette, who always made me feel welcome. Definitely recommend!
