We’ve had solid experiences until tonight. Apparently there’s a new manager who won’t let associates use coupons after 5pm. Okay, fine. When my husband gets there, the associate seemed very bothered. He proceeds to break my husband’s engine cap by tightening it instead of loosening it to open, then says he cannot change his oil because of the broken cap. We bought a new cap and changed our oil ourselves for less than half of what it would’ve cost had they actually changed our oil. We will not be coming back.
I’ve been coming to Take 5 for my oil change for years. It wasn’t til last year they had mentioned the coolant flush and that it was recommended for my vehicle at the Lake Worth location, so I decided to get it done. Then I stop by this location for my oil change, and the gentleman had mentioned that I need to get another coolant flush ASAP because I was empty of coolant. I was a bit confused at this point and it was obvious I was being pushed for a service that was not needed. My husband had checked my coolant the next day, it was in fact not empty, and if it had been my car would’ve already been over heating at that point. I’ve always came to Take 5 because I’ve felt safe with knowing my car is always in good hands, but I don’t appreciate this gentlemen’s sales tactic and will not be coming back to this location.
We have gotten our oil changes here for quite some time. It’s close, convenient, speedy service and up until recently, issue free. I do want to account for the many times we came and had good service before explaining why we won’t be back. My son, home from college, stopped in on a Sunday morning to get his oil changed, before heading back to school that afternoon. While he was getting his oil changed, he was informed he “urgently” needed to get a radiator flush done. Knowing he’s about to make a lengthy trip, he reluctantly agrees, knowing he just had one about a year earlier. He comes home afterward and doesn’t drive the vehicle again until he heads out of town. Not ten miles down the road his car is overheating. No one is at take5 to answer the phone when we get the vehicle back home. The next day, calling to get some assistance lead us nowhere, no manager available to assist or even just answer some questions, provide some guidance, nothing. Leaving contact information also resulted in no call backs, no answers. There was no issues with the vehicle prior to the oil changes/radiator flush being done. When trying to determine what was going on with the car, there were multiple things that happened, and complete responsibility lives with take5. There was no coolant put into the car, the radiator flush was not needed, and a coolant sensor was knocked off the engine. What is so frustrating is NOT that there was an issue with the work done, things happen and I understand that. I also believe that when you pay for a service to be done, it should be done properly, if it’s not, make it right. The manager at take5, that we were only able to reach weeks after the initial issue, refused to take any accountability. He not only refused to correct the issue, he refused to even hear us out and take a look. What happened to good customer service? What happened to good businesses that held themselves accountable and to a higher standard? Wherever they are, it’s not here. I encourage you to be cautious if you do choose this place and beware that if something goes wrong, they’re not going to own up to their responsibilities.
No ! No ! No ! Never visit this location { 6605 N. Beach St. Fort Worth, Texas 76137} Here's why . On Sunday September 28, 2025, my grandson took his car over to Take 5 for an oil change on his Honda Civic, about an hour before closing time. Afterwards he drove 8 minutes to my house and when he drove up I could hear a knocking sound coming from his car. I asked him "what's that knocking sound coming from your car"? He said " I don't know, I just came from getting my oil changed at Take 5, I also noticed my oil light is on in my dash". I asked the employee before I left why my oil light was on and he said "It'll be alright". I told my grandson " If it wasn't on before it shouldn't be on now, pop the hood and lets check the oil". Surprise !!! There's no oil in the crankcase at all and none on the dipstick. ++ {see pic}. Obviously what happened was that they drained out the oil and never refilled the car with oil. It was already too late to drive the car back to Take 5, plus by driving it he risked burning up that engine. S I told him " Let me drive you to AutoZone to buy some oil since you have to drive it tomorrow for work. So I drove him and we bought oil to put into the car. I told him " Tomorrow when you get out of work stop by and show them what we found and the manager should give you a refund or at the very minimum, to make it right. Show him the photos and video of us putting the oil into the car and the receipt for the oil. Monday evening comes and he stops by Take 5 to show them what occurred. Right away the Take 5 employee says " I did put oil into that car ! The response I expected since this was a case of CYA. They completely dismissed my grandsons claim and he walked out without any resolution. Tuesday morning, I call Take 5, guess what ? No answer, plus the mailbox to leave a recorded message is full, so you can't leave a message either. So I call once again and an operator answers and I tell her I need to speak to a shop manager, and can't get hold of anyone. She then tells me " I've left message for him to call you and she took my information. So far no call. Just bad customer service and no accountability for bad workmanship, especially since leaving oil out of a car is not something minor, but is very very serious. Too bad they didn't think so. Customers beware ! They were at fault ! **** click on the videos and see photos for verification. UPDATE 12/03/2025 As of to date, no resolution or attempt by Take 5 to provide a resolution or refund. Only received the below basic response to give them another opportunity to impress me. NOT A CHANCE ! UPDATE ; I filed a report with the BBB soon afterwards of service. Here's the BBB response; We regret to inform you that we have not received a response from the company despite our repeated attempts to reach the business. The business's failure to make a good faith effort to resolve this complaint is now publicly accessible in their BBB Business Profile. So there you go folks, this is the type of service your risking by going to this location and the lack of accountability by Corporate ! Plus, the phone number that Corporate gave in their blanket statement to contact them is a nonworking number. So I will never go to TAKE 5 oil changing location EVER ! GO AT YOUR OWN RISK !
I went in and got in really fast. I got the mobile one high-end full synthetic oil change total cost $149 out the door. However this place was really great until I declined a replacement of my air cabin filter as i couldnt afford thecextra charge today. Up until that time the tech was very helpful even offered me a a bottled water and offered the air cabin filter discount from $50 down to 30 but I told him I just couldn't do it I couldn't afford it at that time, then the techs attitude completely changed so I'm not sure if I'll be back or not. I found it interesting how the first time I went there and I again got the high end oil change Plus an engine filter they were very accommodating they reset my oil change gauge and put the reminder sticker on my windshield but not this time I had to ask for the sticker and he just handed it to me didn't even say thanks for your business. Being as they get paid for up sales I probably just take my business back to Meineke.
