If you have a bag you’ll be asked to put it behind the counter (plopped on the ground) before being asked if they can help you find anything (no one ever did ask me if I needed help/what I was looking for or explained this new policy). New employee, not the service I’m used to there (that is often exceptional). I would suggest they handle service in another way to avoid offending regular, paying customers. Love the shop but I’m not sure I’ll be back anytime soon. —————— Replying to store note: I appreciate the explanation, it goes a long way. Cubbies/shelves for bags would’ve made me feel better + making sure the policy is universal so it doesn’t feel personal. I didn’t see the new sign and have never been asked before. It’s not an unreasonable request but it did feel unwelcoming. Wish you well.

This place is a delightful respite from everyday hustle. My two suggestions are a wider wrapping paper and postcard selection, like a Papersource I guess, and more Jellycat events. A little sad that I didn't the raffle entry ticket last time because I took my time picking gifts, but oh well.
