I hate to give one star because I wanted to love this place, and I do, but one bad customer service experience can really make a huge impact. The food is great, the prices are good, and most of the time the customer service is good but it wasn’t good at 3pm on a Sunday. I pulled up to the window and the guy was standing right there but refused to look over at me or open the window. I was sitting there for a while so I pulled around to the other side where the window was open and asked “are you guys open” he said yes and that he was helping someone else and that he’d be with me in a minute. There were no other cars there. Then some random pops out from the door and was going in and out. Hella sketchy… and I sat there for a few more minutes with no communication before I had to peace out. ✌️I understand life happens and I’m usually really patient but there was something really off about that one. I won’t be going back.

Big mistake... No one was in front of me when I pulled up, and yet it took 10 minutes to fill a bowl up with pozole soup. Worst pozole I've ever had! Flavorless! Probably because the only "meat" was the pig's foot I found in it. Disgusting! Food: bad Drive up: 10 minute wait

Stumbled on this place on a random Friday night and decided to try it. I had several different kinds of tacos, the rice and beans, and really delicious fresh salsa. Everything was SO full of flavor and incredibly fresh! The guy running it was so kind and I’m so happy I stopped there. It’s also really affordable compared to so many places! This is the kind of business that deserves more visibility and support in Anchorage!

FANTASTIC MEXICAN FOOD!! I’m a broke college student and honestly this guy has the best quality and quantity I’ve ever seen in Alaska!!! Definitely give this guy a try. I started mackin on this food before I took a pic but it’s BOMB! 5 dollars for a taco is a steal especially around here, and they are also willing to do Birria burrito’s for 15 at most, IN THIS ECONOMY, dude that’s a steal. I can’t say this enough, it’s worth every penny!!

I was literally on my bike commuting through midtown Anchorage in the middle of winter when I stumbled upon the alluring food truck of Taqueria Cortez. I decided to take a gander at the menu. After a fun chat with the owner, I couldn’t resist the temptation of trying their tacos. I’m beyond impressed. If a professional food reviewer claimed these tacos are the best in Anchorage—it wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Homemade corn tortillas! The owner is constantly preparing food so it’s fresh, fast, and incredibly delicious. Definitely try Taqueria Cortez because it’s rare to fall in love in Anchorage. I will return with chihuahua!
