I had an incredible dining experience here and can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. Everything we ordered was fresh and authentic, but the absolute star of the show was the Butterfish. It was perfectly prepared—literally melting in my mouth with a rich, savory flavor. If you visit, you must order it! The Service: The customer service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure our water glasses were never empty without being intrusive. Finding high-quality Japanese cuisine at such a reasonable price is rare. You definitely get great value for the quality of ingredients they use. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion, this place nails it. I’ll definitely be coming back for more of that butterfish!

Agedashi tofu was a nice start, they make a really good one, great flavor and texture. The butterfish and sava combo was fantastic... Butterfish was perfectly cooked, melts in your mouth. Overall great place. Definitely want to come back!!!

Great place to check out. Worth the wait. We arrived close to 12 noon when it was fully-packed. Walk-in people waiting to get seated can write their name, how many seats, & contact on the inquiry table and leave. In our case, we just wrote 1 name & number of people in our party, then waited outside the restaurant, there’s a bench you can use. They put the menu on the door (can think about food choices) along with other announcements, so waiting outside was okay. After the name was called, we got in and were served with an appetizer, hot tea, & water while waiting & choosing. The lunch special was a good meal. There’s both white and brown rice options that we appreciated. The miso soup was rich and warm. There’s combination meal was good. Some items were seasonal, like the tako (octopus) option. Since it wasn’t available, the fried & crispy oyster ball as a side dish went well with the tasty, spicy ahi fish. Their rolled sushi was served first, and it is filling if you eat light. Gave us 2 sauce containers with it for sharing and the wasabi. Definitely a place with delicious meals, easily a local favorite if you crave for Japanese cooking.

Very good authentic Japanese food! Lots of options from bento boxes, udon, etc.! Ordered the delicious miso butterfish! Great place to eat outside of Waikiki. Reasonable prices. Mostly looked like locals here.

I rarely eat around this part of Oahu. Since we had an errand to run near Kalihi I searched up Japanese restaurant and found this gem. What a great place — serving lots of Japanese alcohols and wide variety of teishoku choices. (Combinations are awesome) The prices are so reasonable and the service is fast and friendly. I can see why this place has a following. We’ll be back!
