The reason I choose 3starts is because in my world it means creative 4=work and 5=change Ten|8 works and well I don't think it needs to change it's got a great Atmosphere and the care they put in definitely gives back. I have been to the gym twice once as a guest on behalf of a great supporter and on a frist time try the energy had absolutely no negativity yet when it was over I even felt I Accomplished something even though I was tired and a little nervous 😅 all and all I felt like a great part of it. I have been a member at several boxing gyms in the Ottawa area -- and looked into many more. Ten Eight Boxing is my first choice for many reasons. The gym hosts everyone from competitive boxers to those who are looking to learn the sport and improve their fitness -- but provides a legit boxing experience that combines real skill development with conditioning in a traditional, focused atmosphere. Experienced fighters at the gym are very generous in sharing their skills and running drills with newbies -- there are no egos to be found, but, certainly some entertaining characters, adding up to an excellent and welcoming culture! The training hours from Mondays to Saturdays are flexible and fit into busy work and personal schedules. Progressing in skills means you come in and do different drills on the floor and in the ring whenever you let the Coaches know you will be coming in -- a far better experience, for what I am looking for, than attending the same old fitness classes where you do the same old exercises, week-after-week: you WILL be challenged. There is also a Yoga-for-boxers session on Sunday mornings, which is phenomenal for recovery and injury prevention. All of this is put together by Coaches John and Kyle who have years of competitive and coaching experience in the sport. They are watchful and will make sure you are getting the attention you need to make progress to match your effort.
Excellent gym for serious boxing enthusiasts. I joined in November 2022, aiming to compete. Just six months later, I was in the ring competing. The coaches are knowledgeable and treat everyone equally, regardless of talent level. Highly recommended!
Best boxing club around! At Ten Eight you are definitely going to feel at home with Coach John & Coach Kyle. You will quickly pick-up on how professional, dedicated and friendly they are from the very start. I very much appreciate the 1-on-1 time that they offer, as the more effort you give, the more they give back in return. Regardless of your fitness level, Coaches John and Kyle have the skills and the professionalism to train both beginners and serious competitors, while giving 100% attention and respect to all athletes, regardless of age or gender - you honestly can’t find those qualities just anywhere. If you are looking for a boxing club with great atmosphere, friendly welcoming training environment and an amazing coaching, this is the place to be!
I've been boxing at Ten Eight since it first opened and I absolutely love it!!! I've been working with Coach Kyle for around 2 years and he helped me start from zero experience in boxing or combat sports. Both Coaches Kyle and John are super knowledgeable, welcoming, and challenge boxers of all levels. They've helped me feel more confident in the ring and work towards a goal of future matches of my own. Ten Eight's community is supportive and all the boxers are really friendly. It's great learning together, and even with different levels of fitness and experience, we always push each other. I love boxing here and can't recommend this gym and my experience with Kyle and John enough!!!
