It’s unbelievable how much money has clearly been invested into the spa while membership prices continue to increase, yet only 3 of the 7 StairMasters work and only 8 of the 13 treadmills work. Members pay too much for equipment to constantly be out of service. Please maintain the gym better. Thank you

Visiting the nordic spa was such a great experience. I loved that everyone was welcomed and could be comfortable in their own skin. The different options of cold and hot pools were great. This was a much needed addition to Anchorage. I hope they will expand in the future while keeping prices reasonable.

Came for the Nordic Spa at AK Club East. The entire experience was disappointment to say the least. To start, in the women’s locker room. There was a lady who started a video call with a male while in the changing area. When asked to turn the video off by a member, she got irate, refused to turn the video off, kept filming and swearing at people. Management did little to nothing about the incident and did not seem concerned in the slightest. (Having video chats where women are literally naked is crazy work). There should be more consequences for this kind of behavior. The spa itself was lackluster. The steam room only kicks on the steam every 20 minutes or so, and there are long stretches of time where there is no steam at all. The bucket of water that’s usually on the wall with a rope to dump, was removed. There was excessive foaming in almost all the pools, which usually indicates improper chemical usage, or improper cleaning. Neither situation made them appealing. The dry sauna has the water buckets removed, which can be understood from a liability standpoint, but the temp of the dry sauna is rarely high enough by itself to be of great benefit without excessive time spent in the sauna. The quiet “relaxing” area is far too brightly lit to be comfortable, the fireplace not turned on and phones are not allowed in there either, so I’m guessing this space will remain largely empty. I do appreciate that they changed the music from the previous upbeat reggae music to more suitable relaxing spa music… but for the cost they’re charging for non members, the experience leaves much to be desired.
