I took my daughter to The Angry Easel for a mother‑daughter date, and we chose to paint the cutest little ghost with a witch hat. We arrived about five minutes before the 6 pm start time, so I knew we might not get the seats we hoped for. There was an empty table in the front row, but when we approached it, someone let us know it was taken. It felt a little awkward standing there trying to find a spot while the room was already full. One thing I noticed is that groups can reserve seats for their party, and the way to tell is by the chairs being tilted forward toward the table. There are definitely regulars who know the instructors and the seating system, so it doesn’t seem to be strictly first‑come, first‑served. For anyone attending for the first time, arriving early is definitely helpful. We ended up in the very back right‑hand corner, and I was worried my daughter wouldn’t be able to see the instructor. Thankfully, our instructor, Desi, was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, patient, and incredibly attentive — truly a 10/10 for hospitality. She made sure we had all our supplies, checked on us often, and even brought her canvas over to show us steps up close whenever we couldn’t see from the back. I noticed she did this for everyone, which says a lot about her teaching style and care. Despite the seating hiccup, we had a great time painting together, and Desi made the experience feel special. I would definitely return, but I’d plan to arrive earlier next time to get better seats.

We had a great time today at our private paint party. Melisa was amazing. She did a great job working with the littles as well as us adults. Thank you so much for a wonderful time

We had an amazing experience with Angry Easel! Michelle was wonderful to work with, and everything went super smooth! I loved they traveled to our house for my eight-year-old’s birthday party! We looked through the painting options, and she created a painting to be exactly what my son was hoping for—a cat holding an ice cream cone. :) Michelle was great with the kids, patient, and fun. She came in, set up, and then cleaned everything up. It was easy peasy on my end, and a great alternative to all of the typical jump place, etc birthday parties. Would definitely book with them again! Thank you!

Ashley was incredible! She was so easy going and encouraging! Plus I'm super happy with my painting. I never knew I could paint a bear and a squirrel and have it look sooo good! Hands down one of the best instructors in Boise!
