The Bristolian Cafe We visited The Bristolian this morning for the first time—my wife, our friend, and I—and originally planned to just have a coffee and a chat. But the warm, welcoming atmosphere completely won us over, so we couldn’t resist ordering food too. My Eggs Benedict was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. My wife really enjoyed the soup of the day, and our friend completely fell in love with the carrot cake (high praise!). The vibe of the café is fantastic: cosy, lively, and full of character. It’s clearly a popular spot, so be prepared to queue at the front door 🚪—but trust us, it’s 100% worth the wait. We highly recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be back!
AMAZING food, the cutest little spot, decorated beautifully and the staff were super lovely and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough. My only request would that I’d love to see more vegan options on the breakfast menu! Perhaps some vegan pancakes? But there are vegan options and my food was delicious.
My partner and I visited on the 14th of January at the end of a three day trip in Bristol. The Bristolian was by far the stand out food of the trip. Very friendly attentive staff. We came during the only sunny stint of the trip and the atmosphere was just beautiful. The breakfast was great and very filling, we didn’t eat again until the evening. A must visit spot if in Bristol
Really great breakfast. I had the full English, "The Bristolian". Amazing quality food considering how quickly it came out, nice and hot. I think because they are so busy, it did feel like service staff were just trying to be efficient more than friendly, which I understand, but it did make me feel like a part of a pipeline rather than a valued customer
We had an overall okay time at The Bristolian but there is definitely room for improvement. We visited with a group of 4 people and even at around 14:00 it was quite busy (it was a Saturday). We were lucky to find a table but that came at a cost. My friend’s pancakes had arrived aprox 30mins post ordering, the rest of us had our food arrive 45mins after ordering. Have in mind 2 out of 4 both had pancakes but somehow the first plate arrived alone and the rest 15-20mins later. Now, about the food! The pancakes were nice, nothing wrong with them. My quesadillas dish was a 10 out of 10, I was extremely happy with them. Sadly the poached eggs on toast were hard boiled (over cooked) which we never had experienced before (especially after waiting 45mins for them! Sadly no staff member ever asked us how our food was, if they did, we would definitely mention to them about the eggs. Overall, the waiting time of our foods, the foods arriving at different times and the eggs being overcooked leaves us no reason to be visiting again.
