Wicked day out. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction to top roping course. Ollie was our instructor and he was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience really enjoyable. Can’t recommend The Castle enough. I’ll definitely be back and I’m planning on bringing my younger brother and sister along soon.

The staff excels at customer service! They were very responsive and helpful to my questions. They gym has so many routes and hidden sections! You will find routes of all different difficulties and using many different techniques. They said they use the French grading scale for their routes. There are a few small negatives to this amazing place. Die to the age of the facility it does have an odor to it. Perhaps they need to replace some mats? It is obvious that the routes stay on the wall for a long time. There are also a lot of routes per rope. While this can lead to variety it also leads to a lot of confusion. Most of the holds were so dirty and covered in grime it was very difficult to tell which holds were for the route I was trying to climb. Ultimately the positives vastly outweigh the negatives. I had a great time climbing here and would do it again!

Massive bouldering facility, inside of a converted water pump shape of a castle, great place to have fun for all levels of difficulty. Also nice cafe.

We arrived for a family taster session with my 10 years old son. ❤️ With another 2 families we were welcomed at the café, where you can buy lots of yummy stuff if you need a power boost and you can shop for climbing shoes, chalk, etc. At the main building we were again welcomed by a lovely member of staff. 😊 In a designate area we waited for our instructor who turned out to be Ben. He was super calm, very friendly and helpful all the way. Within that 90 minutes we were able to try bouldering, climbing with ropes and see and feel how the autobelay works. The place itself is absolutely massive, loads of fun with plenty of options to climb for every level. We had a great time, thank you! 😁👍🏻

A labyrinth of a climbing centre. It was busy when I was there but we managed to find climbing spots in each area. There's indoor and outdoor bouldering options, and indoor belay/lead climbing routes. A big garden area of you want to chill and have a coffee. Seemed to have a community veggie patch too which was unexpected. Really nice vibe at this spot. Great place to hang out.
