If you reach out to this venue, and Katie Hayes responds back, just find somewhere else to spend your hard-earned money - there are so many better venues in the Hampton Roads area (even some right down the street). Katie took over a month to send over a contract, and when we wanted to adjust some of the contract terms (mainly the hours for venue usage), she said she’d be available 1 week later (!), on Friday, to chat more about it. Well, wouldn’t you know it - on Thursday (1 day before our scheduled discussion), she emailed me to tell me another event scheduled the date I wanted. Katie strung me around for weeks, taking 3-4 days to respond to my inquiries, causing me stress ahead of my baby shower (yes, she caused a pregnant woman immense stress for over a month). We felt like she/the church is probably racist (since we mentioned there would be religious components to the baby shower), and we know for sure this church and venue are against LGBTQ+ people (look at the review on WeddingWire). We found a newer, nicer, larger venue down the street for less than half the price Katie was asking for (!!!). And by the way, the cost of the venue is a “donation” to the church, even though they’re obviously running it as a business. Shady, untrustworthy, rude, and unethical place. Don't let this woman waste your time - if she acts like this before you hand over money, what would she act like when she has your money?

Absolutely abhorrent and unacceptable behavior. For over six weeks, Katie ignored calls and emails, took weeks to respond, and repeatedly made excuses instead of doing her job. She avoided meeting and showed zero sense of urgency or accountability. After all that time wasted, we were finally told the date we had been trying to secure was already booked at the last minute. Katie's lack of professionalism and basic communication caused unnecessary stress for my pregnant wife and our families during an already important and time-sensitive process. If you value your time, avoid working with them. Katie, if you're reading this, do better. Blessings!

One star isn’t low enough. If your money is green spend it elsewhere. She has to be the rudest host I’ve ever dealt with. She actually came in and cut my daughter’s birthday 30 minutes short and even went as far as telling the DJ I hired to cut the music. 10/10 would not recommend.

I have a very sick dog that is blood transfusion dependent, and we've been to three different emergency vets in the last 2 months. The Cove is hands down the best one we've been to. Dr Patterson and her vet tech Meg have made us feel like they genuinely care about our little pug Frank. Everyone we've dealt with at The Cove has been easy to deal with and made us feel like valued clients. They're very proactive with communicating updates, as well as being are patient in handling all of our questions. I highly recommend The Cove to anyone that might need their services.

My son had a wedding at the Cove. As we pulled up, there was plenty of parking. The venue was nice and had a good time. Unfortunately, they ran out of toilet paper. Overall, it was a good time.
