Long que (30 minutes +) and then had to pay to have a perfectly good couch put into landfill. Staff were polite and helpful.

I think it’s pretty common knowledge that the new operators have fundamentally changed how this place operates and not for the better. Prices have increased exponentially and are bordering on the ridiculous…. $65 for a very worn side table, $12 for a small slatted outdoor table hardly holding itself together etc Not everyone is buying stuff to re-sell it but I think that’s the operators main focus… trying to out-price secondhand stores and put them out of the market.

Regular at The Green Shed. Went there today. Atmosphere was like a funeral. People coming and going. All very sad about the closure and none having faith that SVDP will maintain the culture or the commitment to reusing materials and things that would normally end up at the tip. One lady stocked up on books. I did get permission for the photo. Better they be bought and read than go to landfill

A large warehouse filled with an unbelievable range of items! Have fun scavenging amongst the rubbish to find some hidden treasure! The stunning glass lampshades pictured are still there (there were a lot of them when I went today, but things can go very quick!). I took one of the plain side tables, so there is one left, as well as two of the more decorative ones. This place has everything from whiteware, breadmakers, ski boots, clothes, baby cots, furniture, bikes, playgrounds and all sorts of other random and interesting objects! Nothing is priced, but prices are reasonable. Paid $5 for 3 food storage containers and a foil car reflector yesterday, then paid $30 today for the side table, 2 washing baskets, 5 DVDs, a long photoframe and a pile of cost hangers.

Great for reusing by purchasing an old bike, or a wooden pallet, some old building materials, furniture, rollerblades, ski poles etc. It may not be shiny and new, but if you like a yard sale you'll find something you may need and a few things you didn't!
