Worst experience while having our company Christmas party. Bartenders were a husband and wife with the absolute worst customer experience. During the whole party they were completely rude as hell. Would have honestly gotten better service at a fast food restaurant. Who has last call on alcohol and then doesn't want to give shots but will serve mixed drinks which take even more work to make? Then you order a mixed drink and politely ask for 1 ingredient to not be added and the female bartender gets upset and says "no we're not doing this, either you want a drink or you don't". If you're thinking about booking here don't, for any event at all. Unless you don't mind dealing with rude individuals who still expected to be tipped. If google would let me put zero stars, I would.
Large open space with a blank canvas great front business events and activities! Kern Medical used it to unviel their collaborative project with western universities!!
The only reason this place is getting 1 star is because the venue is beautiful. The owners however, were a freaken nightmare to work with!! Horrible communication, super unprofessional, and rude. Owner didn’t own up to their mistakes throughout the day and got very mouthy with the bride. You’re in the wrong business if you can’t provide your best customer service when your clients are upset. They booked a Friday wedding so told us we could come anytime Saturday to set up. We get to the venue, they brought the wrong chairs so we called him to let him know. He showed up an hour later in a bad mood. That mood followed him for the rest of the day. While we were setting up we could hear him on the phone very upset that he was there way to early bc his team messed up and that we were there way too early, so on and so on. While we started getting ready in the bridal suite he came in to the suite and asked us to move our cars bc he had things to do in the warehouse. Then complained again that we weren’t supposed to be there that early. We rented that space out for the day. Why was he even there? Anyways, since he was there we asked him if there was ac in the bridal suite because it was super hot in there. When he came to turn it on, he asked the bride that since we came early, if we would be leaving earlier. We were confused bc they had said we could be there and we had rented the venue until 11. She asked to pay for another hour bc she didn’t want any problems and he said “don’t worry about it we will talk later” and walked away. He came back literally as we were all starting to walk down the aisle and talk to her again about money owed and the extra hour & pretty much blaming his team for all the miscommunication. We didn’t have time to sit there and talk bc the wedding had literally started. He showed up again about 9pm, pulled the bride and demanded that she pay the bar tab right there and then. We had asked him days before to pay the remaining balance and he never replied. He again blamed it on his team. I asked him why he didn’t pull me (as her maid of honor) since he was supposed to pull me for anything, and he said she HAD TO PAY HIM. So there we are, trying to pay this man and now the bride is upset bc he pulled her from her wedding again. She was expressing to him that he was handling things so wrong the whole day and the way he was acting all day wasn’t ok. He never once apologized and tried to make things right. He literally kept blaming his team for everything. A team includes you to buddy. The team wasn’t the problem bc they were amazing. He was the problem. He caused way more problems then there should’ve been. His attitude and him wanting to act big and bad at the end of the night was so ghetto, ugly and disgusting. He sat there fighting with the bride over money AT HER FREAKEN WEDDING, even after he had gotten paid. She paid thousands of dollars to be there and he made us feel like we weren’t going to pay him and like we were a problem to him all day. Of all the venues we’ve ever done business with, this owner was the absolute worst. He doesn’t deserve all those great people that work for him, he doesn’t need to run any business acting like that. You apologize, make things right and keep it professional no matter what! The wedding wasn’t over for you to come in demanding money. We had to cut it short, our dj didn’t get to finish playing bc you ruined the night. He was paid to be there till 11. Once we started packing all our things away he tells us that we don’t have to worry about cleaning, that they would clean for us, like it was a favor lol we paid for the cleaning service 😂 you didn’t do us any favors. It felt like they wanted us out so bad. They Bride left crying, you ruined her day for nothing. We left by 10:30. He got his way, he had the wedding stop at 10. I will never recommend this venue to anyone unless it gets new management. Oh he also owns cask iron downtown and had mentioned that we doesn’t serve certain whiskeys to keep a certain crowd out, we all know what that means right?
Oil Barons Ball lived up to its own reputation of being the best party experience of each year.. Robin, Sandy and OBB committe again " Thanks for the Memories"
Amazing venue! We recently had the first annual Bakersfield Music Awards show at this venue and we def loved it. Bryant and McKayla were amazing. They’re super responsive, attentive, and did everything in their power to make sure we had a smooth running show. I will def recommend this to anyone looking to rent a quality venue with a great staff.
