We have a reactive GSD. We started off with puppy lessons at the K9 way and later took more lessons to try and help with the reactivity issues we were having. Our reactivity began to improve, apart from in and around the area of our house - we required more support, so messaged asking what else we could do (we were told to message for extra support at our last training session - although I did message a bit of time after this lesson, only because I wasn’t sure how much to message or what kind of things to message about and didn’t want to pester too much). I also made it clear we were still willing to pay for more lessons in said messages. Unfortunately after messaging on instagram once (it only allowed you to message once) and sending 3 direct text messages and a video of some of our progress, we failed to receive any answer to any of our messages. It’s very disheartening because we read and heard good things about the K9 way and really wanted to continue working with them, and only wanted what’s best for our dog. I hope to hear back from them again to hopefully continue, although I’m not hopeful, as my last message to them was nearly 6 weeks ago and previous to that 7 weeks ago and previous to that in march…
We did a group training course with Mark at K9 Way and it was so helpful to get feedback on how we handle our dog, and the advice has made a real difference. It has also been great for our dog to be around other dogs in a controlled environment, which is so much better than just having off-lead dogs run up on him at the park. It's making a really positive and noticeable difference.
We have a very loving and intelligent puppy Bernese boy, however, he had a very cautious and anxious nature, and suffered from some separation anxiety issues. We had tried a few other trainers before Mark at K9 way and we just didn’t feel they understood his nature enough and underestimated his abilities, so we didn’t see much improvement. Straight away Mark recognised the traits that other trainers just didn’t seem to get and we saw improvement in puppy from week 1!! After the block 121 course we have a puppy who we gladly take on walks and feel confident training him on and off lead with various distractions. We don’t want to stop there so are enrolling him in the group classes as he is excelling and doing amazingly with Mark’s training tips. Definitely the best dog trainer around!
When we got our puppy in June, we decided to go to some training classes, and when a friend recommended The K9 Way to us we spoke to them and decided on the 121 puppy pack. After the 5 sessions I can safely say it was worth every penny. Mark is friendly, knowledgeable and he was super patient with all of our questions. Most importantly, it's clear he loves dogs and working with them, and our girl loved him from the start. He started to teach us how to work on foundation training with Sana, and she's come on leaps and bounds. You need to put the work in between sessions but the techniques Mark showed us led to quick and noticeable results every week. Due to this I genuinely believe we have a better relationship with our dog, and that she is happier, and it goes around in cycles; she does well, we enjoy it more and relax, she picks up on this and responds to it. In short, the course is a bargain and I'd recommend it to anyone with a pup. I'm so happy we decided to do it!
Dora is my first dog and she's a rescue. Although she was extremely sweet right from the start, she pulled on the lead, was reactive out walking and had no recall. I noticed a huge difference in her right from the first group session. A few simple changes and she was a different dog. The group sessions have been brilliant fun and are great value for money. Each week I see such improvements in her. We're both growing in confidence and having such a good time. The support from the other group members has been so helpful too. Dora's quality of life has improved so much. These group sessions were the second best decision I ever made (the best was adopting her in the first place). Thank you Mark! 🐶
