Dean is such a wonderful guy- my two Poms and I met him for a session in January to work with my 1 year old Pom and I on improving our communication. Dean quickly earned both of my boys trust, and was able to help me learn how to help set my youngest up for success by being clear about what was “good” behaviour. He also taught me the “gold, silver, bronze” ways for teaching my dogs how to switch to other positive behavior when they start to do things I don’t want (pulling on lead, jumping up, etc.). I was so impressed with our progress in just one session and have been able to follow through with it to be the very happy result for my Poms and I. We also have been working on our “homework” and know he’s a text away if we need support. Five stars!
My very dog reactive Korean Jindo rescue and I had a session with Dean in early January. We were very stuck with getting our dog to manage seeing and passing other dogs without turning into a swirling dervish, despite watching many videos on positive reinforcement and having previously engaged other dog trainers. Dean was non-judgemental about the extreme reaction to dogs and showed me how to recognise and reinforce positive behaviour. It is the first time that I feel we have received practical advice on how to move forward with this very stressful issue and even though it is only 4 days since the training, our dog is able to look at me when he sees a dog at a distance, with a bit of whining, and also take a treat. I will definitely return to Dean once we have made significant progress, hopefully in a few months. I highly recommend him as a caring and experienced trainer.
Dean is a wonderful dog trainer. He listens to your and your dogs needs and takes the time to explain everything in digestible terms. He helped me understand my dog better and gave me the confidence a dog owner should have (+ Sapphire also loves him). Sapphire and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to form a deeper bond and understanding of their dog.
Have had a couple of great sessions with Dean. Can highly recommend. Needed help on a few things with a puppy, particularly recall. He explained a really clear and simple method to use and could see a big difference after just a couple of walks. He's a really nice bloke and the sessions are fun, interesting and the dogs seem to love them.
From the first moment I connected with Dean, I felt completely reassured. As a first-time dog mum, I had all the usual concerns—and a few more, given my dog’s health issues and sensitive nature ( Italian greyhound!) . Dean was patient, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable, instantly putting both me and Leo at ease. I’ll never forget that moment when we first tried removing the lead—I honestly felt my heart drop—but Dean’s calm and experienced guidance made it such a positive and controlled experience. He knew exactly when Leo was ready and supported us both through the process. Dean is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to dogs (plus life in general). His understanding of behaviour, especially for sensitive breeds like mine, is exceptional. Dean explains things in a way that’s clear, supportive, and never overwhelming, which was exactly what I needed. We both left the session with so much more confidence, and Dean made sure we had a toolkit of practical tips to continue progress at home. I only wish I had started sessions with Dean earlier—the difference he made, even after one session, was huge. Leo responded so well to him, and I felt safe and supported throughout. I can’t recommend Dean highly enough for anyone looking for not just a trainer, but someone who truly understands dogs and helps you understand them too. Thank you, Dean!
