Outstanding coffee, lovely staff, and the Colson toastie is 10/10. All in a stylish and quirky venue. Highly recommend 💯

Relatively unique simple cafe food (toasties, pastries) and great coffee! Staff are friendly and make the already great atmosphere (bookish, relaxed vibe) even better!

For a booklover this is a must! Firstly the staff are super sweet and always greet with a smile. I was in Newcastle for a short period of time but I kept coming back for their dirty chai and I was obsessing over the croissant ham & cheese. I was a little embarrassed to browse thr shelves as its a busy little cafe and I didn't want disturb the patrons sitting enjoying their meals but no one seemed bothered. If anything they are more then obliging. I managed to grab a book, regrettably I should have grabbed more. If ever I'm in Newcastle again it will be my go-to.

Fantastic cafe and book shop. Coffee is very good, and the toasted sandwiches delicious. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Nice atmosphere with lots of books and board games, relaxing and cozy. Limited choices of food, esp. for proper meal. We came for breakfast, toastie was ok, croissant was toasted with press, lost its fluffy texture. Lots of salt on both toastie and croissant, don’t quite understand the purpose, but can be easily shaken off. Coffee was ok. Would come back for morning tea of afternoon tea.
