Root Cellar was amazing! We did a tasting with them and the food was incredible. Excellent customer service. We chose them for our wedding because their food was amazing at the tasting, they had staff and bartenders available, and they were incredibly professional and organized throughout the whole process. They made it easy for us to adjust our order and make changes up until 2 weeks before the event. On the day of the wedding we got to just enjoy ourselves and they handled everything. Our guests are still raving about the meal. I highly recommend the beef short rib!

Just incredible for big events and weddings! For some background, my husband owns The Videre Estate (a venue in Hill Country), and we decided to use Root Cellar Catering for our own wedding at Videre. We've seen them at plenty of weddings at our venue and each time, the team does such an incredible job at taking care of guests and their couples. Especially big shoutout to Beth and Kaylee. Beth helped us leading up to the day as our point of contact. She gave so much great insight, answered my 100s of questions along the way so quickly, hopped on phone calls with me, and is so knowledgeable about wedding catering and just weddings in general! And Kaylee!! She was our lead for the actual wedding day - and she just crushes it every time I see her at our venue! Always smiling, is on top of it, and just an overall go-getter and sweetheart! Anytime we send couples to Root Cellar, we know they are in good hands with their team! We feel so lucky to have had them for our wedding and will continue recommending them to our 100s of couples!

Amazing catering for our wedding! When we went for our tasting we were blown away, the absolute most delicious food we have ever had. I have dreams about that pesto pasta. Days before the wedding we were talking about how excited we were for our family style dinner service with them, and they definitely lived up to our expectations! Their staff were attentive, efficient, and super sweet. Us and all of our guests were well taken care of. The bar staff did an excellent job with making our signature drink- which I was thrilled with as we didn't get the chance to test it out ourselves before the big day. We are still hearing from guests at how good the food was, nothing but raving reviews. We loved having roots cellar cater our wedding, from start to finish!

We had a fantastic experience with Root Cellar Catering and highly recommend them! Planning our wedding from a different state was made so much easier by Beth, who was always responsive and helpful. She made menu planning a breeze and even scheduled a tasting for us the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (the only time we could both be in town before our wedding). On the wedding day, the service was fast, professional, and the quality of the food and drinks was excellent. We chose passed appetizers and a plated dinner. A quick note for future couples regarding special features: we had ordered an espresso martini tower for a photo op that we unfortunately missed. There were valid concerns behind the scenes about supply shortages and stability, but we would have appreciated a heads-up at the time. Luckily, our photographer managed to snap a picture, even if we didn't get to see it live. This was a tiny detail in an overall amazing experience, and we were still really happy with our experience. Definitely a 5-star team!

We hired Root Cellar catering for our daughter’s wedding in March 2025 (and son’s wedding Feb 2023), worked with Beth H from start to finish. Taste testing was phenomenal as were the passed appetizers to the plated steak & grilled shrimp dinners as well as late nite snack of macaroni & cheese and breakfast tacos. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Our only disappointment was having 14 no show guests we paid for (over $500) and communicated throughout the process that all “leftover food” was to be boxed up and sent home with us; unfortunately that did NOT happen. The food was fed to the catering team (which we were told we did not have to feed prior) and then discarded the leftovers. The bride & groom were sent 3 meals to go with them, which was wonderful. Following up with Beth to figure out what happened to the left over food, she said the catering captain was new, not familiar with boxing up food for the bride’s parents. We asked for a refund for the 14 meals & it’s been 9 days of radio silence. This also happened at our son’s wedding, no leftovers of 30-40 no show guests. That is our only complaint.
