We visited the Sound for New Year concert of Thievery Corporation. The venue is intimate enough but still good capacity to accommodate a decent crowd... We had basic tickets, I think some areas were restricted, but there are tables and chairs behind the sound booth if you don't want to be on the floor and there's enough standing area as well. The lounge area just outside the main floor is nice and quiet, you can watch the show on TV and socialize if you want some break from the noise and crowds. Parking was $20, I didn't have to reserve it ahead of time, getting in and out was smooth but we did leave shortly after the countdown
Not a bad seat in the house, but if you're anywhere near the speakers...ear plugs are highly recommended. Venue is great and has ample parking so no complaints there.
Absolutely LOVE this place! What a great place to see a concert. We saw the AAR there. Intimate small venue. Lots of standing room areas. Plenty of places to get drinks and food.
First I did not like the $20 parking, I felt like that was excessive. However the music venue itself is great. There isn't a bad spot in the venue. Plenty of Standing Room on different levels so you can see the stage. Plenty of bars as well.
Saw Stephen Wilson Jr. at The Sound. Awesome venue for North County at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Parking expensive at $20 and you can't come and go. A lot of floor space if you're a moosher, and want to stand shoulder to shoulder for three hours — not me! Give me a cushy seat close to a bathroom! Good handicapped seating but make sure you email them to let them know after you purchase tickets because Ticketmaster doesn't have a place for that. Great acoustics. There's not a bad seat anywhere in the Balcony. Tacos downstairs and smash burgers upstairs for $18 but they are good. Cocktails, beer, wine available several places. Open door patio downstairs with picnic tables. Smokers. Line up early - box office open an hour before show. Get them to print your tickets & faster than pulling up on your phone. BTW. Stephen Wilson Jr. Is amazing if you've never heard of him. He's going to be big so glad we had a chance to catch him for $40.
