100% loved everything from the trendy decor and rooms, to the service and spa! Getting away from below zero weather for only 3 days was well spent, and I for sure want to return as soon as possible. There was 4 of us, including a Birthday girl. The staff were very thoughtful and helped to make this visit extra special for her. Everything was very organized and accommodating, wasn’t able to bring my pup but loved that the signs said they could stay for free, maybe I’ll bring him with me next time! Loved seeing all the guests with paws! The cafe ladies were so refreshingly pleasant, I looked forward to seeing them.🙂 My spa experience was incomparable, definitely the best experience in my 14 years of visiting spas. The ladies giving us manicures and pedicures were the best, wish I remembered their names- so friendly and sweet natured. My message therapist: Ben was exceptional and professional, honestly I have never felt so relaxed and well taken care of. My body felt brand new, pure magic! Extremely satisfied customer🤩 Thank you to the entire staff for putting in the work and hours at The Standard to make this visit unforgettable!
The emphasis here is SPA. If you go for and take advantage of all the spa stuff, it might be worth it. A room rate of $595 plus taxes fees etc that took it to$875 and what we got was a teeny tiny room with no amenities. + another $126 for parking? However, we were not there for the SPA but if we were, I'm sure we could have gotten much more out of the cost, but that wasn't our purpose or time available. We did take advantage of the fire pit area (it was a blustery cold day), and the staff were very friendly. And if you love dogs and don't want kids around, this could be a great place for you. But a quick in-and-out overnight stay to enjoy friends' wedding celebration - ridiculously expensive and not very commodious.
A bad experience from start to finish. The worst customer service I have experienced anywhere ever. Poor facilities, overcrowded so impossible to enjoy anything and I was served someone else’s cold, leftover food. Spend your money elsewhere, don’t go here. Spa - they clearly overbook/oversell the spa, so it’s incredibly crowded and impossible to relax or enjoy any of it because there’s no space to sit or use any of the spa facilities. Steam room and sauna are packed full of people; you have to be right up against complete strangers in a steam room - it’s disgusting. The zen lounge has a total of 4 seats, so no chance of relaxing there as there’s no space. Also, the spa facilities themselves are pretty bad - just like those in a cheap gym, not a high quality or purpose-built spa area. Pool - horrible setup! They obviously only care about getting as many people in as they can, rather than the experience, so they have packed as many beds into the space as they can and the beds are all right up against each other. My husband and I were being elbowed by the people next to us because you’re really directly next to everyone. Even for the cabanas ($600) there is absolutely no space or privacy - each cabana is completely open (no curtain or anything) and joined to the next one, so you’re right up against the people in the one next to you. I should not have to smell the breath of the people next to me. You’re packed in like sardines. The customer service at the pool area is the worst I have experienced anywhere ever. When you arrive, nobody greets you or shows you to a bed, you just go and sit wherever, which means nobody has any idea that you’re there. It was VERY difficult to get anyone’s attention to get any service. We waited 1 hour to receive our first drink. We then tried to order food and were told that they were completely out of chicken, beef and shrimp (so most of the menu). We ordered fries, guacamole, mezze and calamari - things we thought would be quick. It took over 2.5 hours to get our food. The fries were cold, broken up and some had already been dipped in ketchup - they were very clearly someone else’s old, uneaten fries. I was horrified. They refused to take the fries off of our bill. We then waited a further 30 mins for a second drink (3 hours to get 2 drinks) and decided to leave as it was very difficult to have an enjoyable time. When we were paying, I asked to remove the service charge, as we had, had a very bad experience with struggling to get anyone’s attention for service, VERY long waits for food and drink and being served someone else’s leftovers. It’s worth noting that 3 other groups around us were also very annoyed about the service and one guy said he had waited an hour just for them to bring his check, so he could leave. The manager tried to tell me it would not be possible to remove the service charge (which in theory is optional) and I had to be very insistent for him to remove it. I tried to tell the manager about our experience but he didn’t seem to care or want to hear about it. And to be clear, I waitressed for years, so I’m always very polite and respectful to service people because I know how it is - I was very polite and calm while trying to just factually explain to the manager what had happened and he completely did not care. We then waited 20 minutes for our car at the valet when we were leaving. The valet is $45 for the first 4 hours and then $5 for each additional hour. I paid $55 for valet when I requested the car back. Because the wait for them to bring us the car took 20 minutes, that went into the next hour and they tried to suggest I owed an additional $5 and wouldn’t give me my car keys. I’m not kidding. I couldn’t believe it. Obviously I refused and they removed the charge but I was appalled. Other people leaving also seemed generally annoyed and stressed - people weren’t leaving in a good mood and a group next to us in the lobby were complaining about having a bad time. Avoid this place! Spend your money elsewhere.
This place is absolutely amazing. I love the vibe here, its beautiful and right on the water. I loved dining (food was good) and just hanging out here watching the yatchs cruise by. The spa is amazing and theres plenty of spacious showers (with shampoo, conditioner, and soap) and locker rooms. The drinks are good and strong. Very expensive but its worth the experience. Everyone working here is so nice and helpful. The best thing about it is its dog friendly. People were enjoying time with their dogs lounging by the pool and at the restaurants. It is adults only so theres no kids splashing on the pool. Kids dont typically bother me but it was nice to have an adults only vibe for a change. Highly recommend, this place will not disappoint.
My mom and I spent the day at the spa, a gift for her 50th birthday and everything was amazing. The front desk staff were super accommodating when I had to reschedule a few days before and made us feel very welcomed during our visit. My mom had an urban warrior treatment with Cesar and he was extremely kind and respectful. Made my mom feel super comfortable and did an amazing job during the treatment. She’s still talking about the massage a few days later. Lorena gave me a facial and she was so kind and knowledgeable. We felt so taken care of! Also big bonus to be able to spend the day at our leisure enjoying the amenities at the spa and hotel grounds including the pool!
