One of the best gyms I've been to, this place is essential for me as it has a pendulum squat as I've a bad knee and boxing bags up stairs. Great place and staff are very welcoming and helpful.
I'm visiting Belfast for the first time, as my partner is from Belfast, and when I travel, I like to try out a local gym or 2. After a little research, I thought I'd try The Yard. Straight away, I was greeted when I walked in the door, and once I explained I had a day pass, the lovely South African guy (apologies, I can't remember his name), offered to show me around. We had a great chat generally, but he also gave lots of useful information about this gym. As someone who used to work in gyms, this kind of customer/member service makes a huge difference! The gym itself was clean, tidy, modern, and had a good atmosphere. Lots of great pieces of kit, some of which I have never even used myself. Will definitely come back to The Yard if I get the chance. 💪💛🖤
Great gym. Visiting from out of town and needed a day pass. Had everything I need and no waiting at all to use the station I wanted. Good selection of free weights, squat racks etc. Nice crowd. A few things that would make the place better. One more Smith machine, a proper incline bench, more than a single seated row. And it would be great to have a deadlift bar jack! Changing rooms are a little on the small side and people leave deodorants , water bottles , t shirts etc in the lockers.
Great equipment, not too crowded in the mornings. The weights are usually well organized (not chaotically strewn about). Has something for everyone. Some more interesting machines like pendulum squat and functional area with sleds and some boxing equipment. Lots of squat racks, several DL platforms, multiple bench presses, DBs up to 50kg, several cable pulleys. Great space.
I got myself a day pass to see if I would like to join the gym or not and I have to say that I will definitely be switching to this gym. There is three floor and plenty of good equipment, they even have a boxing ring and plenty of punching bags on the top floor. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and the gym is very clean and tidy. There is also a coffee shop and a sports massage therapist on site. They offer a wide range of classes and I can't wait to try them. I'm so glad that I give this gym a go!
