Tom was more than just a photographer, he helped guide us through the entire process of getting married at the Wake County Courthouse and we couldn’t be more grateful. My family and I truly appreciate the whole experience Tom gave us. 10/10 would hire again!!!

If we could rate Tom Waldenberg in stars, we’d need NASA-level math, because five is nowhere near enough. Tom wasn’t just our photographer. He was our makeshift-coordinator, our chaos-controller, our stress reliever, our honorary family member, and, by the end of the night, the friend we half-expected to see wearing a lampshade on his head. From our previews alone, we can tell he captured every candid moment without missing a single important shot, wrangled our wedding party with the grace of a seasoned diplomat, and then dismissed them early so everyone could actually enjoy cocktail hour. Who does that? A hero, that’s who. From the moment he showed up, Tom made us feel like we’d known him forever. He kept us confident and comfortable in front of the camera, but also gave us the kind of confidence you need to survive your wedding day with your sanity intact. When our team accidentally put out the secret zines about our courthouse wedding too early, Tom noticed immediately, saved the surprise, and preserved the ruse. When we realized we hadn’t planned what to do between the ceremony and cocktail hour (oops), Tom swooped in, promised my mom he’d keep things moving, and became the unofficial Master of Ceremonies. Basically: knight in shining armor, holding a camera instead of a sword. Our parents raved. My German grandmother (with famously high German standards—iykyk) raved. And none of them had even seen the photos yet! That’s how good Tom is: people adore him on sight. By the end of the night, he wasn’t just documenting the party, he was part of it, helping keep our timeline intact, corralling family, partying with us, and somehow still catching every candid grin and happy tear. We haven’t even seen our full gallery yet, but Tom promised sneak peeks within days (a turnaround so fast it should qualify as a superpower). And honestly? Even if the photos were just blurry stick figures (they weren’t), I’d still hire him again, because he made the day itself so much better. Tom wasn’t just the best vendor decision we made; he might have been the best wedding decision we made, period. Book him. Treasure him. Invite him to Thanksgiving. You won’t regret it.

Having Tom as our wedding photographer was such a dream. The pictures turned out insanely beautifully!! I was blown away by the film shots especially, I feel like they have this mood and look that is so unique. I get so happy when I look back at them. Tom was incredible to work with from the very first email, where he was communicative and very easy to talk to. He was a calming presence during the entire wedding planning process and made me feel a little more sane (which is such a wonderful thing because wedding planning can feel like the entire world is conspiring to make you go insane). I feel so lucky that we stumbled upon the perfect photographer to capture the energy we were going for. A lot of our guests have also mentioned that they enjoyed meeting him at the wedding, so it was like having a super cool bonus guest and photographer all in one. We also did our engagement shoot with Tom, which I highly recommend because we got to know him a little more before the big day and of course the pictures turned out amazing!

Words cannot began to express how incredible Tom is as a photographer and human. If you’re getting married, need family portraits, or plan to elope look no further. Tom’s communication from the start of the process to the end was prompt, clear, and helpful. When we needed other wedding vendor recommendations etc. he had information and knowledge to share. Tom is here, there, and everywhere on your wedding day doing an incredible job of capturing all the moments of your day and yet somehow he just blends in to the celebrations seamlessly. It will always be so special to relive our day through Tom’s breathtaking images. His documentarian style and eye is priceless. Tom is someone you can count on from the initial meeting to delivering your photo gallery. He will advocate for you on your big day and make sure you’re comfortable and happy with everything that’s going on around you! Tom is a photographer who will make you feel immediately comfortable in front of the camera. We could not be more delighted to have worked with Tom and to call him our friend. If you want a photographer who puts you first and takes the most organic, emotional, and stunning images than hire Tom, you won’t regret it!

Oh boy. It’s taken me a week and a half to come up with the words for truly how amazing Tom is. Almost a year ago, we matched with Tom on Our Day, and from the very first conversation, we knew without a doubt we had to work with him. If you are wanting to work with someone who has incredible energy, an absurdly kind demeanor, and just makes you comfortable from the very first interaction- work with Tom. I haven’t even gotten to his photography yet. Tom did our engagement photos, our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding day. We shared pizza on multiple events and had the time of our lives. Tom captured our day in a way that brings so much joy- because we were in the moment in every single photo. Tom was everywhere at once; on the dance floor, with the grandparents, in the rain, you name it. A few of the texts we got post wedding: “Tom is the MVP” , “whatever you paid Tom, it wasn’t enough. That guy is incredible,” “I may have to get serious about finding a partner so I can hire Tom” … true story. Seriously, hire Tom. When it dumped rain right before our ceremony, Tom danced in it while taking hilarious photos of our guests. That’s the magic you want on your wedding day and the people around you. THANK YOU TOM!
