This place will give your dog and YOU the skills needed to be happy & successful together. We paid for the 2 week boarding for obedience training. We found a beautiful puppy in the woods and she was a wild dog. We struggled to train her. We connected with Torchlite and now she is completely obedient and happier than ever. We all are. Def recommend Torchlite for anyone looking for any type of training needs. Worth the money spent.
What a difference two weeks can make! I enrolled my 6-month-old rescue, Jovi, in Torchlight's two week puppy board and train program, and I have been blown away by her results. Jovi struggled with extremely low confidence and was scared of almost everything. After two weeks at Torchlight, the increase in her confidence is truly visible! Before, she cowered and tucked her tail. Now, she holds her head up high with shoulders back, tail wagging. It's amazing. I cannot recommend Torchlight enough!
My pup and I were very happy with Torchlight K9. I especially appreciated, at the end of each day the trainers sharing my pup's progress. The trainers were all clearly invested in her training. They shared the same love of animals but were still firm with their training.
My dogs Yoda and Zelda lived together amicable for almost seven years; Yoda had some issues with anxiety and dog aggression, but the two of them always got along famously. Late last year, they were both attacked by a large pit bull; Yoda needed emergency services, but Zelda was okay. A couple of weeks later, they started fighting - really vicious, bloody fighting. I was terrified. I became so anxious that I couldn't relax in my own home. When I reached out to Torchlight, I was at the end of my rope. Over the phone, Alesha wasted no time explaining their behaviors and reassuring me that it was both common and fixable. I needed them out of my house, so a board & train was absolutely the only option I cared about. I won't lie, this was an investment for me, but to say it's been life-changing would be the understatement of the century. I have complete control of my home now. They don't fight, they don't bark at passers-by, they respect each others' space, they don't rush people who come to the door, and best of all they both walk loose leash 100% of the time. Yoda now knows how to manage his anxiety about other dogs, and on walks he will move to my opposite side if he needs to feel safe. When he's nervous, he knows to come to me. But, it's important to emphasize that you don't send your dogs to Torchlight and get perfect dogs back; they start the process of addressing behavioral issues, but it's the owner's responsibility to continue the training. The first month with Yoda and Zelda was pretty intensive, with me having to work with them daily to reinforce good behaviors and prevent old habits from returning. Fortunately, this isn't left to guesswork - they sent *three* trainers to my house when they dropped the dogs off, who spent a solid two hours covering the basics with me. Best of all, the board & train includes lifetime free access to their weekly group classes, and if my dogs have any major behavioral issues down the road they'll send trainers to my house to work with the dogs. It really was a no-brainer and not a day goes by when I'm not grateful for the knowledge and compassion of the Torchlight team. p.s. - The attached photo shows how we get ready for walks now. Whereas they used to get super excited and charge around the house, now they go to Place, wait for me to leash them up, come to the door only when I call them, and they even lie down for a minute on the porch just to reinforce a calm energy for walks.
Upon recommendation from a friend we took our 1 y/o pitbull mix to Torchlight K9. The experience has been top notch, from working with Alisha, Ted, and Kevin. These people are truly passionate about what they do. PJ spent 2 weeks with them in a board and train situation even after having a minor medical situation. They brought her in, nursed her, and taught her what she needed to learn. When it comes to dog training, training the dog is the easy part, training the owner is the hard part. Ted and Kevin go above and beyond with their knowledge, patience and skill to get the owners trained. They are simply amazing. Our pup is young but I feel as she gets older the time she spent with Torchlight was money well spent. A trained dog and trained owner leads to a happy life. We are truly impressed with this company and are eternally grateful for all they have done for our family.
