One of my best finds on our Boston trip. I love breakfast sandwiches and I just had the best of my life. I made it vegetarian by putting bacon on the side which my wife said was really good. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was great - great bun, ingredients, didn't really pay attention to the details it was just so good. Nice atmosphere and we sat and decompressed for breakfast after several action packed days of sightseeing 60k steps over 3.5 days. I also had the boston cream pie croissant which was awesome. Coffee was great also, strong and flavorful. Fast service. Had grapefruit juice which I love for breakfast. Sat at the bar, nice atmosphere where you could take out a computer and work for a while also.

Tradesman Coffee Shop has such a beautiful atmosphere — it’s honestly one of my favorite interiors in Boston. The space feels warm, stylish and inviting, and it’s a place I love spending time in. Their coffee is genuinely good as well; smooth, balanced, and made with care. However, during my last visit the pastries were unfortunately disappointing. I ordered the Boston cream croissant and my friends tried the regular croissants, and all of them tasted a bit stale. Considering the reputation of this place, I expected fresher pastries. Still, I keep coming back because the vibe, the design, and the quality of the coffee are great. I hope the freshness of the pastries improves, because this spot has the potential to be perfect.

Stylish little coffee haunt with an old-world lounge feel, chandeliers, leather banquettes, and that classic downtown Boston energy. The pastries are the highlight: buttery, fresh, and worth the calorie math. If you’re used to true French bakeries, they’re more of a solid B, but still very good for Boston. The food and coffee are good, but the experience swings depending on timing. We went multiple days, and one visit was fantastic while the other felt a bit off. Most drinks come in paper cups, which feels like a miss in such a well-designed space. Lines can get long, especially mid-morning, and prices are on the high side, but that’s Boston. Still, it’s a place worth stopping by for the vibe and pastry case alone. For me, it lands at 4 stars: elegant atmosphere, solid coffee, a few dings on consistency and value.

Walked out of the Dagny, figured I’d see what was around. Couple blocks later, just a Starbucks staring back at me like a bad joke. Turned around, headed back, and that’s when I found Tradesman Coffee Shop and Lounge. Place hit me right. The breakfast sandwich was a knockout, best I’ve ever had. Bacon, egg, cheese, spinach, some sauce I can’t name, all smashed between a homemade cheese roll that tasted like it came from heaven’s oven. Tremendous. Skip the Starbucks. Go here. Trust me.

Grab a bite and a great coffee along the Freedom trail or on your way to the aquarium. Outdoor seating is temporarily hindered by scaffolding, but there's plenty of indoor seats.
