Meh! Coming from Chicago, pizza did not live up to its hype. Its one of those typical modern-something restaurant with a bourgeoisie vibe. Food is good, not great. Service is also slow and inattentive. We tried 2 of their white sauce pizzas with 2 different crust options.
We’ve been to Tribute twice now—once a while back when we brought my mom along, and then just recently, just the two of us. We came back because we loved the vibe the first time, and it was just as great on our second visit. The pizzas are delicious and each one is like a little homage to a unique flavor or style, which really suits the name “Tribute.” They’re known for their cocktails, although we ended up ordering wine both times—so we’ll have to try the cocktails next time! A funny little detail: before we arrived, we got a bunch of confirmation messages that felt a bit like I had a dentist appointment—pretty formal stuff! But once we got there, the warm hospitality, especially from our server Brice, made us feel totally at home. He even surprised us with a complimentary dessert. Overall, it’s a place we’d definitely recommend and we can’t wait to go back!
Great pizza in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. First off, the pizzas are excellent. Varied and well thought out. The drinks are excellent as well. They have a running theme of making tribute to well known pizzas and drinks. So they will have classics from all over the world, then reference where they are from on the menu. A pretty cool concept. Service was fast and friendly which is worth noting because the place was packed on a Sunday night. The food took quite a while though because it was so slammed. Now to why this is a 4/5 and not a 5/5. The waits are long, and you have to get a reservation if you don’t want to wait 2 hours outside. This is insane for a cool pizza joint. It’s pizza, elevated pizza, but still pizza. Not worth 2 hours of waiting or fighting for a reservation online. This isn’t the restaurant’s fault but still something to keep in mind. Worth it if you can just get in or a random reservation but not worth fighting through the crowds.
This was our first time going, but it will 100% not be our last! The food was amazing! We got the Woodfired focaccia with the fancy butter and salt flakes, as well as kale salad. Then we got our son a cheese pizza, and he tore it up! My wife got the seasonal cocktail which was bourbon spiced apple cider, and I got the seasonal bourbon old fashioned and man that bartender had a good hand for pouring, because that thing was sooooo good! Lastly we got our pizza and we got the dye another day pizza, it was delicious! The crust was nice and crispy, but also soft inside, it was perfect! Add it to your list of spots you need to check out, and then go asap! Definitely recommend making reservations.
Tribute Pizza was recommended by a friend so we decided to try it. Best pizza experience we have had in 25 years. Dirty Danzin was Pizza Perfect. Everything fresh. Garlic & cheese focaccia romana starter was fantastic. My wife said the silverton chop salad was one of the best salads she's had at a restaurant. But that was after drinking the Sangria, which she said was delicious (turns out it's "home made", and can very day to day). The restaurant was packed so make sure to reserve a table. Free Parking is not easy to find in the neighborhood but we found public paid parking half a block from Tribute Pizza.
