We had an amazing time working with Doug for our mini session. He instantly made all of us so comfortable, including our two toddlers! He was warm, goofy, fun and empathetic— the perfect mix of what we needed to capture some incredible candid moments that I will cherish forever. It felt less like a photo shoot and more like a sweet afternoon exploring the gardens. He was also super responsive to my questions and very accommodating to our last- minute booking. I also can’t forget to mention Courtney; she did a beautiful job editing them. The dreamy lighting in these photos was perfect! Highly recommend them for anyone looking to capture photos of their family enjoying one another.
Doug was our photographer for a company event, and he was amazing!! He made sure to fully understand exactly what we were looking for in regard to our photos and did exactly what we asked for. We had numerous calls and emails prior to the event, and he was very accommodating. The day of the event, he was a lot of fun to work with and had the pictures back to us in a timely manner. We couldn’t be happier with the photos! He did an outstanding job! I highly recommend Twig and Olive if you are in need of a photographer!
I’ve worked with this photographer twice before and purchased their photography presets for editing. I enjoy their work and am a loyal, paying customer. My most recent session was scheduled for September 25th in Illinois, but it was cancelled by Doug, the photographer due to an emergency. We were very sorry that happened and completely understand emergencies can arise. An attempt to reschedule was made for the following month in october, but the only option offered was a much earlier time which would require me to take time off of work and pull my children out early from school. When I inquired why the time changed I was informed it was accommodate another “delux” client session. My session had already been paid in full, and I feel my original agreed-upon time should have been honored. Communication after the cancellation was very delayed — I had to follow up several times over text and email before receiving a response. Although a refund was eventually issued, it wasn’t received until November 10, and PayPal fees were deducted twice from my deposit, even though the cancellation and schedule change were initiated by the photographer. I would not recommend hiring them if your schedule is tight. Though we chose our original day for their travel sessions in Illinois, the location and time was TBD and there’s no choice by the client…You will be expected to arrive at the times location they pick for you in those states and there is not much flexibility. As a returning client, I expected better communication, professionalism, and a full refund without deductions. I hope my feedback encourages more timely communication and fairness for future clients.
I cannot say enough things about working with Twig & Olive for our daughter’s Quinceanera. The photos were amazing, he was great to work with & he kept the day moving, easily coordinating our large family for photos. Look at some of these unforgettable moments. 🤩
100000000/10 recommend Twig & Olive!! I hired them for my wedding on 9/21/24 and it is hard to put into words how absolutely amazing they are. As soon as I spoke with Doug in early 2023, I knew he was our guy. Doug knows his stuff and has 20+ years of experience to back it up. I cannot emphasize enough how much he was involved throughout the entire planning process, and what a saving grace he was for me! He always texted me back and answered all questions quickly, was quick to jump on the phone if I wanted to talk through something. My husband & I got to know Doug very well during our engagement shoot and more importantly, got comfortable getting our picture taken (I’m extremely awkward). Once I saw the amazing pictures, I learned to trust his process. Doug makes getting photos taken fun!! Not cheesy posing, just natural candid shots. In the months before our wedding, Twig & Olive sent us plenty of helpful planning guides. Doug knew I was stressing out quite a bit and created our complete wedding timeline from start to finish (which I was SO GRATEFUL for). He also connected with all of my other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. I added a 2nd shooter for the day of and they were PHENOMENAL. I trusted Doug 100% to handle all things photography on the day of and knew I didn’t have to worry about a thing, rain or shine he was going to make it happen and that is exactly what he did. We fell behind schedule a bit (hair & makeup delay), but I never knew that until the next day. He directed everything so well in all areas and made sure we got all the shots that I wanted and then some. I received so many compliments from so many different people on how impressed they were with Doug, he was cracking jokes and making guests laugh, but he also meant business and made sure we have all the photos of our friends and family. I look forward to working with Twig & Olive in the future, thank you so much Doug!! I am absolutely obsessed with our wedding gallery and could not be happier.
