One of my favorite spots in San Francisco, especially during the holidays! In December, they have a large tree and skating rink. Also, JPMorgan has a winter walk there. I went in 2025 and enjoyed coffee, shopping, the food trucks and live entertainment. Union Square brings a SF city magical vibe. Perfect for families or just anyone who wants to enjoy it.
Nice. I had a pretty decent (good) experience at Union Square. It was quite crowded during Christmas, however, it is likely worth seeing it, especially if you are visiting San Francisco. There is a massive Christmas tree erected right on the square (Christmas 2025-2026), which makes it a nice spot to capture a selfie nearby. Overall, it is a great place to visit.
We had such an amazing time! We went out three days before Christmas and the holiday spirit was everywhere. We saw the giant Christmas tree and the massive Hanukkah menorah, and even spent some time skating at the ice rink. All the shops were so festive—Macy’s and The Cheesecake Factory were both decked out in beautiful holiday decorations!
As always, Union Square is spectacular. Especially during the Christmas season, the amazing beautiful tree. The ice skating rink, everybody decked out. Looking across the street, all the wonderful beautiful stores, especially the flagship store for Macy's, its just a place to experience and there's plenty of underground parking. The security is top-notch. Everyone should feel especially safe with so many of San Francisco's finest everywhere.
