I visited the Valvoline location at 4365 Genesee Ave, San Diego, CA store # GN0092 on Jan 12th 2026 for the first time and received the best customer service I’ve experienced at any Valvoline location. From the moment I pulled in, I was immediately greeted by the manager, Anthony Pruitt. He asked whether I had been helped yet, and when I told him I had not, he did not hesitate to step in and assist alongside his team. Anthony was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient throughout the entire process, which I truly appreciated. During the vehicle check, he informed me that my battery power was lower than it should be. Normally, I would be hesitant about additional recommendations, but his professionalism and warm, transparent approach made me feel comfortable and confident in moving forward with a battery replacement, without ever feeling pressured or rushed. What stood out most was that Anthony personally took the time to install the battery himself, ensuring the job was completed properly from start to finish. With the help of two other hardworking and courteous team members, Carlos and another gentleman named Anthony, the service was completed smoothly and efficiently. It was refreshing to witness the positive interaction between Mr. Anthony Pruitt and his staff. His leadership clearly fosters a motivating and supportive work environment, and it shows in the team’s strong work ethic and customer care. Thank you to Mr. Anthony Pruitt and his entire team for making my visit such a smooth, professional, and enjoyable experience. I will absolutely be returning to this location.

It was fast, easy, and the staff was friendly. While they do suggest add-on services, that’s part of the business and never felt pushy. The pricing was reasonable, and the available coupons were a nice bonus. I typically go to Valvoline for oil changes, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

This is a good spot to go. Every experience I’ve had has been a good one. They provide excellent customer service in an age where even decent customer service is extremely rare. I’ve never felt I’ve been upsold anything unnecessarily. The only complaint I could make is that they do tend to be extremely busy and are slower than other Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations (which are also very good) for that reason.

Don't come here. I've been waiting in line for 35 minutes. I got here at 11 am. I was 2nd in line. They then moved me to let someone else on front of me when I was here first. It is 11:40 and I am still waiting They are slow, they play favorites and do not even come close to 15 minutes. Never coming here again.

Friendly staff, comprehensive check-up, efficient process. Note that they don't take appointments, which is nice although the wait for me was approximately 10 minutes.
