It's simple. Jan is the greatest plumber on the planet. He is not only the consummate professional but explains everything that he sees and proposes before the work is done. And the work will get done - Jan will execute and take care of your issues, almost over the top. Our home is over 100 years old and had massive root issues in the sewer line. After wasting money on a number of incompetent companies I finally found someone who cared. Vanguard is not cheap, but this is the best value in Chicago. Please pay a real professional to do the job right rather than serially wasting money on people who never solve the problem. Jan is transparent and will insist you see what is going on. Sorry to ramble, just call Vanguard.
We have been using Vanguard for over a decade! Jan is amazing, he and his guys always do a great job, explain everything as they go, and answer all our questions. They treat you like family, we love them, and will continue to use them. This time they corrected two blockages, but they have also repaired our check valve, replaced our water heater, and done several smaller projects over the years
I’ve used Vanguard Plumbing, led by Jan, for several years across different homes. We had Jan replace an old outdoor spigot with a new freezeproof one with shutoff valve. Working with Jan was great - he's a clear communicator, scheduling was easy, and the work was very professional. He also took the time to answer in detail my questions about other aspects of our home's plumbing system. Pricing was consistent with other quotes we received. He's the first person I'll call for future plumbing work.
Vanguard did an excellent job helping with a unique project that other plumbing companies were not able to solve. I was looking to convert my double basin sink to a single basin, and Jan was a huge help from the initial phone conversation, to connecting me with another contractor who could modify the countertop, to completing a clean and great looking install. Jan and George installed a new faucet, garbage disposal, and connected the remaining plumbing fixtures. They worked efficiently, communicated clearly, and left the work site clean. 10/10 would recommend for any plumbing work!
