I was refereed to this place by the company I work. It’s a very known company in the city but I will not mention it here. Just understand you should treat everyone with kindness and respect without regards to what they look like. My daughter and I , as well as, my mother were looking forward to starting the New Year off right getting healthy 😊 So my Mom invited me to a stretch class she paid for through the app. She goes through a lot taking care of my sick Grandmother and she needed a break. When I say the lady that was at the front desk who called herself a manager was beyond rude this is an understatement. The way she handled my mother was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. And she also lied about the fact we couldn’t come to the class just because my mother joined VASA Castleton which isn’t opened yet. My Mom was very upset and the interaction and treatment she received was both unnecessary and totally disrespectful. I will be speaking to the community development department with my corporate office to let them know about this location and how people are treated. My Mother is also an executive in healthcare as well with clients all over Indiana and surrounding areas. Hopefully this review reaches the owners and helps them going forward to employee workers who are more diverse and willing to help members who pay for memberships. If the manager with the blonde ombré hair that works at night is any indication of how VASA actually feels about its patrons I don’t see the business staying around in the future. Be careful about treating people a certain way because you think you can due to what they look like it may be the biggest mistake you will make fir yourself and your employer.
It’s fine - I gave this location a chance, but I ended up joining a different gym that opened up recently, for the same monthly price, because of the lack of upkeep here. It always seems like the same machines are broken or misaligned constantly. Patrons leave wipes all over the floor and the cup holders of the cardio machines. The cable accessories and mats are pretty run down and need replacing. Stuff is never where it’s supposed to be and patrons don’t unrack their weights or put things back. There has been a broken mirror in the weight area for a couple months, held together by tape. It looks like they’re starting to do renovations so hopefully these issues can be addressed soon. I usually go during my lunch break and it’s not as crowded as the mornings/evenings but there are people who set up tripods to film. Otherwise people mind their own business. It has all the equipment you need for a good workout. I never got to try the classes, but you get 3 free ones when you sign up. The women’s locker room is always clean. They’ve been better about restocking the wipes recently.
I enjoyed the gym was nice had a lot of perks that I enjoyed and felt like I leveled up going to this gym has a basketball court, sauna, steam room, hot tub, indoor swimming pool, spinning classes, hilt cardio classes, daycare center, and massage therapy plus body scan and personal training
I don’t give out five stars easily, but I’m very impressed with this location. A week ago I joined VASA at the south side location, but I’m closer to this location. Everything was clean and neat. The dry sauna was super hot and the men’s bathroom is the cleanest men’s bathroom I’ve ever seen! I saw a lot of negative reviews for this location and so I’m glad that I went there today to see the reality for myself. It is definitely one of the best gyms you can join( at least this location) I was expecting a dirty bathroom because it’s hard to clean up after men, but I’m really impressed with this gym. Definitely worth my $$ membership. Happy I joined!
First off, I want to say I love the Vasa brand. The layout, amount of equipment, and size offers everything someone would need. My reason for a 1 star with this particular Vasa is due to the management and lack of upkeep throughout the gym. I've been a member since this gym opened and it continues to decline. See included photos and following explanation. The machines are starting to fall apart, the dumbbells are missing rubber and have not been replaced and the water fountain filters are never changed and go for months without fixing. The men's urinal is wrapped up more often then it works and that's besides the toilets that leak on the floors, faucets that never work, and soap that is always empty in at least 2 of the 4 dispensers. The incline bench has a piece that was installed backwards so when someone adds a plate over 25lbs, it blocks the individual from being able to rack the bar. I've had to help multiple people who could not get the bar racked. There is a light that has been out for 2 years and now there are 4 out that have not been repaired. The walls are damaged and not repaired, painted, or maintained. Yoga mats are damaged and not not replaced and cable equipment is broken and "fixed" in ways that cause concern for injury. On top of that, the parking lot is not cleaned with unacceptable amounts of trash lying around and that's tolerable in comparison to the amount of broken glass in the parking lot. Overall, the gym is great, however, management has a lot of work to do and standards to uphold that are far from met.
