We arrived in the evening of November 7th. My husband and I came home and found our dog Polly in distress. My vet told me to take her to VCA Great Lakes. When we arrived she was unable to walk so two employees helped to put her onto a gurney. They rushed her in the back and started tending to her. They were desperately trying to determine what was wrong with her but she unfortunately passed away. While I am saddened by the passing of my sweet Polly I would recommend VCA Great Lakes if your dog is in need of emergency treatment. The staff was very competent and compassionate.

My experience with VCA was so compassionate. From the moment I walk through the doors to the moment, I placed my beloved dog on his forever resting spot. VCA was understanding and so caring to our baby. I want to recognize what an angel Brooke is. Brooke lives close to me and offered to bring our baby home which was the kindest gift someone could’ve offered In this painful time. There are angels in good people and I believe VCA has them. Thank you for the wonderful care Bentley in his final moments.

We took our fur baby in for what we thought was a back issue. It turned out to be terminal cancer. She never came home with us.it was quite a shock as you can imagine. Dr. Stelmach and her team at Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists explained everything to us with a kind heart. There was no question as to what we had to do. Our baby was suffering. All the staff gave us plenty of time with her in a comfortable room with its own exit door. They were all very kind at such a hard time.

Our pup Woody was treated like a king here! After he got into the bathroom trash and ingested a few things he shouldn’t have, we called to ask if we should bring him in. The staff on the phone was so kind, reassuring, and completely nonjudgmental. That same kindness carried through when we arrived in person. They got Woody seen within minutes of us finishing paperwork, confirmed pricing before taking any steps, and kept us updated the entire time. They explained our treatment options in a caring, no-pressure way. The front desk team kept us smiling and at ease throughout the visit. Shoutout to Sidney, Karen and Dr. McHenry! We’d absolutely recommend this location to anyone in need of emergency pet care — they truly go above and beyond!

We are incredibly appreciative for the wonderful staff at VCA Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists. Our 9 year old sweet Sasha was in distress for unknown reasons this past Saturday so we took her immediately to VCA. They admitted her quickly and kept us updated while she was being treated. Dr Veronica Martin, the Reception Desk staff as well as the Vet Techs were amazing! We feel they were professional, kind and demonstrated that they truly care about their patients. Of course the cost of the visit was higher than a non-urgent facility but I expected that for Emergency services and felt it was well worth it to get my little pup out of immediate distress/pain. Sasha is doing much better now and I am grateful they took such good care of her!!
