Our knowledgeable staff, like James and Mike, ensure attentive service, with options for gluten-free diets and curated wine pairings. My first thanks is to Google maps for helping to find you on our walk from Broadmead! Second, to the nice guy who led us to our table. Then last, but definitely not least, we must say a huge thank you to Mike who made the whole experience really enjoyable and interesting. We actually had a voucher which was bought for us last Christmas for the Sicilian Wine tasting. We were really pleased with the entire experience and the voucher covered our bill. Hence, the ultra low spend! I feel like we actually learnt quite a lot and loved the whole idea of how the business is built on family tradition. One could really feel the good vibes....great wines and super food and plenty of it ( more than we expected). Would definitely recommend!!!
I celebrated my birthday at Veeno today with my parents and my partner - it was the best place to celebrate! Our waiter, James, was very attentive and knowledgeable about GF options as I am Coeliac. I’d emailed the restaurant in advance to confirm there were available options for me and was informed that while the GF pizzas are cooked in the same oven as gluten items, they are cooked on a separate tray to avoid cross contamination while possible. It was really helpful to confirm these GF options and catering via email before dining, as well as with James who was very helpful! James informed us that I was able to have any of the pizza options on a GF pizza base, as well as the Chocolate Fondant, Torta Al Limone or the Mousse Al Marsala for dessert. I’m not too sure about GF starter options as I didn’t want one (saved room for dessert!). I had the Caprino e Cipolle pizza on a GF base which was absolutely delicious (perfect if you’re a cheese lover), as well as the Chocolate Fondant for dessert which didn’t disappoint with its warm melt in the middle! I was also pleasantly surprised by the GF pizza base which was light and crispy on the bottom. Veeno also has a great selection of wines to choose from and James was very knowledgeable of how their orange wine was made - my favourite drink of the night. I’m so glad we chose to dine with Veeno on a Sunday evening. There were a few other groups dining at the same time as us but we were able to hear the music being played and could easily chat at a good volume as the restaurant wasn’t too loud. It was one of the most relaxing dining experiences I’ve ever had! Veeno definitely needs to advertise their GF options more - as a Coeliac, I felt so safe dining here and would highly recommend it to others for a tasty, authentic Italian meal with top quality customer service!
We had the Italian afternoon tea for 2. As it was Sunday it was quiet in the restaurant but there was still a lovely vibe. The food was absolutely delicious, and James was attentive and friendly. 100% recommend. Their menu and other offers look great and really good value, definitely want to return.
Our Taste of Sicily experience at Veeno was truly fantastic. Our guide Catalin was very knowledgeable, explaining the origins and complexities of the 6 wines that we tasted and reasons why they paired so well with the food that he recommended. The food board that comes with this experience consisted of a good mix of meats and cheese. The picture shows the sharing board and the 6 wines that we tasted in the background. A very pleasant experience.
Hospitality as it should be. Arrived late Friday evening after a long journey just as Veeno was about to close. Asked if any possibility of food and no effort to accommodate us was too much for James (front of house) and chef Luca. Not only did they welcome us warmly but our choice of dishes were cooked to perfection and we were also provided with a wine tasting to determine our choice of wine from the high-quality menu. Our experience was so good, we visited again the following evening and enjoyed the hospitality of Mike (FoH) and chef Enzo. Once again, everything was perfect, and we couldn’t recommend Veeno more highly for anyone visiting Bristol. Very much looking forward to visiting our local Veeno in Edinburgh sometime soon
