This was the worst experience I’ve EVER had at a veterinarian/hospital. I took my cat in on a Saturday due to urinary issues, straining to pee, decreased urinary output, and he seemed uncomfortable. Worried about blockage that is fatal to cats. I arrived at 1145 am. I was triaged quickly and he was brought back out to me in the waiting area. I wish I would have left at that point and called our veterinarian Pusche Ridge Pet Clinic, who are amazing btw, had I known it wasn’t emergent. My cat is NOT friendly and just getting him there was traumatic for him. I decided to wait to be seen by the veterinarian since we were already there. They called us into a room at 215 pm. She came in and examined him and told me the tests she’d like to run. She told me to go grab a coffee or a bite to eat that it would be 30 minutes but 2 hours for his X-rays to be read by radiologist. She apologized for the wait, which I am an RN that works in a hospital, so I totally get it. i understand emergencies do happen. I was told I would be called, but never was, and returned at 415. The front desk said they told them I was back and I waited in the lobby expecting them to call me back and get my cat. Finally at 515, I went back up to the desk asking what the status was. Front desk went into back again, and said they were still waiting for radiology to read, telling me it could be another hour and that they would call me. I decided to go home to feed my family. At 6:30 still nothing, I called them and was placed on hold for “the back” for 30 minutes. At that time I was told by the tech “X-rays were just being done because kitty just wasn’t having it and they were sedating him. They will be ready in an hour.” Mind you, I was told they were completed at 4:15 by the front. I called them again at 8pm. They told me he would be ready to go by 9. I waited. And waited. And waited. Checking out they said what a “sweetie” he was, at this point I knew they were lying. My cat is NOT a “sweetie”, never has been. I didn’t get home with my cat until after midnight! Not only am I out $1500 dollars, but I have NEVER experienced anything as HORRIBLE as my experience with this place. PLEASE go elsewhere!
Had a great experience with this Vet Specialist Center. Walk-Ins only, and $150 for exam. Got a Valley Fever Test & some seizure meds for my dog Rosco for $566. Took about 4ish hours, which is normal for these types of Testing experiences, so plan ahead, but we got right into an exam room right away. Prices are decent for those of us who are check to check.
I can’t thank Dr. Moore and the entire team at Veterinary Specialty Center enough for the exceptional care they gave my dog during her second TPLO surgery. Dr. Moore was thorough, compassionate, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which gave me great peace of mind. The staff treated my dog with genuine kindness, and the follow-up support after surgery was outstanding. Knowing they were there for questions and guidance throughout her recovery meant so much. I am truly grateful and would highly recommend Dr. Moore and Veterinary Specialty Center for orthopedic care.
Tank had a sarcoma on his back left leg. Dr Klaus and the team did Ultrasounds and determined the cancer had not metastasized. Tank is 13 so I didn’t want to remove the sarcoma if the cancer had invaded other parts of his body. Dr. Moore and Barb and Rocky took it from there and successfully removed the tumor at the margins. From the front desk to the vets to the treatment Tank received from the surgical team, everyone there makes you feel like they care about your pet as much as you do. Dr. Moore and the team gave me a high level of confidence on the outcome and they were wonderful with this helicopter dog mom. My sincere thanks!
My 9 year old cat Sofia was bitten by a Pitbull. The next day we originally taken her to the vet VEG in chandler. It was simple they stitched her up and we were on our way. We were not send home with any antibiotics only pain management meds. The next morning Sofia had pulled out her stitches and off we when back to VEG. We were charged for an injection of Buprenorphine and they advised to not replace to the stitches. Wrong call. Sofia’s slightly smaller than dime sized wound grew larger. Her entire abdomen area was opened and mangled. After VEG failed us we visited the Tuscon Vet Specialty. They wasted no time taking Sofia back to work on her. They did an amazing job. They stitched her up and cut all the yucky stuff out. They informed us of every detail on her care and time there. They sent us home with pain meds and antibiotics for the same cost as Sofias time at VEG. They were patient with us on working out a quote and genuinely cared how Sofa was doing. She looked perfect now like none of it ever happened and she’s back to being a big, happy, lazy kitty. We are so grateful for the amazing work the staff provided for us. Would recommend to other pet owners in need ❤️‼️
