We were really excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the expectations, especially for the price point. The highlight of the meal was actually the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar — it was excellent and easily the best part of the experience. We ordered the grilled pear gorgonzola appetizer and the capeletti porcini. The capeletti porcini was decent and I’d give it about a 4/5, but overall the appetizers were just okay. The main dishes were very lackluster. The arrabbiata penne, in particular, had almost no flavor and no spice at all, which was disappointing given what the dish is supposed to be. On a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely — very cozy with a great ambiance inside. However, we did make a reservation for two at 7:00 and still ended up waiting about 20 minutes after arriving on time, which was frustrating. Overall, I wouldn’t return, especially considering the cost, but others may have a different experience.
Great Italian spot! Located in the farm shopping center. Our server was super nice and attentive! Can’t remember his name unfortunately but he was very friendly, even talked sports either my boyfriend. Good menu with plenty of options to pick from. Cozy and quiet. The decor is beautiful for the holiday. Food was also delicious!
The atmosphere was very nice. Cozy. Seated immediately even without a reservation. Lots of wine to be had. We were offered a drink menu but we declined. No other drink options were offered except water. That was fine by me. We order Ravenna insalata (salad). It had avocados, chopped celery, clear white sliced thin onions over what Amy have been spinach. The dressing was a clear vinegar based something. I didn't care for how it was presented. In a pile more or less. Wife claimed it needed pepper. Must be new fad or something because every restaurant I have eaten at high end to hole in the wall seems to want hide the salt and pepper. This place none of the tables had it. I ordered lasagna wife order chicken picatta. My lasagna came with maybe 5 layers. It should have stacked on top of one another but either it slid and separated during the plating or it was deliberately spread out that way. A full 1/4 of the bottomlater was hard and could not be cut it's a fork. Barely able to cut with knife. It wasn't awful tasting but it also wasn't great either. To me it was just so so. Wife said her meal was bland. Chicken really did have much going.for.it other lemon seasoning and it was easily cut with a fork. I think there was like two maybe three waiters there for maybe two dozen tables. They were bussing tables as well as taking orders. Sort of rare these days. All in all it wasn't a bad visit but the price was steep for what you got. I might go there again for another special occasion but I have to really think on it. It is shame that good Italian food is next to impossible in Tulsa. But what did I expect from a town founded by oil men who value steak more then Italian.
Came into town with some friends that flew in from Thailand for his father’s funeral. They recommended we go to this place, which was the best Italian around. Outside was in a strip center corner nice entrance. When we got to our table the lighting was very dim. But other parts of the same room were very bright. Really throwing off the atmosphere. Thought the dining area was nice, but, needed proper lighting. Bar area was cluttered and not put together well. There were different rooms for dining which was ok. Kind of weird. Server must have been having an odd night, at least I hope. He was not helpful or friendly. Food came out timely and was hot. The lasagna was bland, but the meatballs were great. My wife’s Chicken Tortelloni was very bland and not at all what we were expecting. Deserts were the best part but they are not made there from what the server said. They come from LaBaguette. I will not be giving this place another opportunity, it was really one of the worst Italian experiences I have ever had. The bad thing is, the place would be really nice. I was very surprised at how bad it was.
This is the highest quality restaurant in Tulsa. Nothing compares, just look at my photos of the first class food. We are just speechless trying to tell you how good it is. Best salad and pasta I have ever had. Service was first class by a gentleman called Ismael Ortiz, he likes to be called 'is' for ease.... he explains the dishes, he has first hand experience and all his recommendations were 100%. I highly recommend The Villa Ravenna, and will back to eat here in November when the gun show returns, written by Richard from London, England.
