I went to see the Giants art exhibit and it was amazing! There is music the fits the vibe of the exhibit. The staff is wonderful, from the coat check to the counter. Of course, the art is amazing. Perfect for dates, families, or just a solo outing. The musuem is huge, so I will be going back to explore the rest of the museum.

I visited the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on November 26, 2025, to see the Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz exhibition, and it was an amazing experience. The exhibit was powerful, inspiring, and beautifully curated—blending art, culture, and music in a meaningful way. After the exhibit, I attended a live jazz session at VMFA, which was absolutely phenomenal. The musicians were incredibly talented, and the atmosphere was relaxed, soulful, and inviting—such a perfect way to end the evening. We wrapped up the night with dinner at Amuse, the museum’s on-site restaurant, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable and convenient. VMFA truly offers a full cultural experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is one of those places that quietly impresses you and then sticks with you. The space is beautiful, calm, and thoughtfully laid out—you can move at your own pace without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The range of art is incredible, from classical pieces to modern works, and it all feels accessible, not intimidating. I really appreciated how welcoming it is; it feels like a place for everyone, not just art experts. It’s the kind of museum where you leave feeling a little more grounded, inspired, and glad you took the time to slow down. A true gem in Richmond.

We live close by and love walking to the VMFA. The outdoor area is really nice to enjoy on warmer days. They also have some dance events (we do tango) that we attend on occasion. There's always something to do for the family... so check their calendar regularly for something fun and new to go to. Some of the galleries are free, one of the few museums that do it. And the boys love the pizza at the best Cafe. The bottomless coffee at the cafe is also a plus... they have Blanchards coffee. Very good coffee.

Wedding Venue: We had an amazing experience planning and hosting our wedding at the VMFA!!! Beth was awesome to work with through the planning process, and wedding weekend. She was kind, helpful, professional, responsive, and we had full confidence in her executing our event! She helped provide all the critical info up front, answered all our questions through the process, provided guidance, vendor suggestions (DJ was amazing), helped coordinate details for some of the other vendors, and overall was a calming presence that put us at ease. The wedding logistics were executed flawlessly, and it was such a nice feeling to be able to have full confidence in Beth and the staff, and truly be able to enjoy the day/evening. The venue itself (Amuse & Claiborne) was perfect, and our guests were raving about it - they enjoyed the different rooms to talk and dance, and enjoyed the patios. The food was incredible (especially the mac and cheese!), we loved having so many options as a part of the station dinner, and guests really liked having the food out all evening. The bar never had a line, everything was efficient, and guest enjoyed the selection. Most importantly, we and our guests noticed and appreciated how every staff member we interacted with was so nice, helpful, and were just a positive addition to our evening. Lastly, we loved all the different outdoor options for pictures, including a private first look in the front of the building. The grounds are so beautiful! Thank you to Beth and the entire VMFA staff for everything they did to make our wedding weekend perfect, smooth, and SO much fun - we are so grateful! We could not have picked a more perfect wedding venue! Note: Photo credit Michael & Laura Photography
