This place has been going downhill ever since Wash N’ Roll took over a few years ago. The prices have doubled if not more in that time while things continue to break without being repaired… ie the windshield sprayer that went out over a year ago. All they seem to focus on is getting you to sign up for a subscription even though one of the owners told me they tend to change hands their locations every few years. Add to that they try to force you into tipping every time on top of the increased prices. They unfortunately have a monopoly on the area, but you are much better off if you can make it to the Brentwood Wash on Wilson Pike Circle. They have lower prices, no built in tipping on the machines, and facilities that are always maintained.
My first and only time here. Not a good experience. Guy tried to get me to do a subscription - told him I need to know if I'm going to like it or not. He said just sign up and cancel - I passed. Then he asked me if I wanted to tip the two guys that give the front and rear a quick brush before you go through the wash - which I think is odd to calculate a tip based on service before you get the service. I added 15%. I wish I left no tip. We watched other cars go through - get front and back brushed. We went through and got no front wash scrub and barely anything on the back. It all just felt like a poor effort. Still had all sorts of grime on the car. Waste of money.
I visited Wash N Roll Car Wash on 8th Avenue South this morning, and the experience was excellent. From the moment I arrived, Michelle, one of the service managers, greeted me warmly and asked how my day was going. It’s such a simple gesture, but it makes a significant difference. The way a business welcomes and engages with its customers truly sets the tone for the entire experience. The staff overall were courteous, kind, and very professional. The facility was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which really stood out. I also appreciated the thoughtful extras they offer, like fresh towels to wipe your vehicle down, a free station to wash your mats, and access to vacuums and air hoses—all included at no extra charge. These small details make a big difference and add real value to the service. I even went back to personally thank Michelle for her kindness because those small, genuine interactions leave a lasting impression. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a quality car wash experience with outstanding customer service.
Employees scam customers here so be aware! I didn’t ask for a membership just a wash and the guy swiped my card and selected the unlimited plan. I told him I didn’t want that and the response I got was well you got to call a number to cancel. I also paid for the most expensive wash and my car nearly looked worse than before the wash.
Update: 5/30 - See additional photos. Over $2K in damage. Unresponsive management. Promised refund and communication that didn’t happen. TL;DR: I strongly urge you to avoid Wash N Roll Melrose. My car was damaged during the wash due to employee negligence. I was met with hostility and zero accountability. Over $2k in repairs, 3 hours of my time, and still haven’t received a single follow-up. I visited Wash N Roll Melrose on 4/14. Despite the poor reviews, I figured it was “just a car wash” and went ahead. Big mistake. I paid for a $22 platinum wash (tipped, total $23) and followed the staff’s instructions. One attendant with long brown hair guided me very close to the car ahead while another, with short blonde hair, was looking at his phone while putting soap all over the windows. I was told to put my car in neutral and remove my foot from the brake — standard in these kinds of washes. Shortly after doing so, the track pushed my car into the vehicle ahead. The attendant yelled “WHOA WHOA WHOA,” and I hit the brakes. He denied any collision at first, but the woman in front confirmed both vehicles made contact. My bumper is now visibly damaged — warped on both sides and no longer flush with the body (this is a lease vehicle). I approached the attendants to file an incident report. Instead of helping, they became confrontational. The long-haired attendant yelled at me, insisting I “accelerated” (impossible, as I was in neutral and my vehicle has forward collision braking). When I asked to speak to a manager, he refused. I called the non-emergency police line to file a report and tried multiple numbers listed online for the car wash — no answer, no callback. I waited for nearly 3 hours while watching the staff continue to direct cars while distracted on their phones. No one checked on me or attempted to resolve the situation. Eventually, the blonde attendant yelled at me as well and shoved his phone in my face, saying “HERE. MANAGER!!” The man on the phone confirmed he was the manager and oddly excused the employee’s behavior by disclosing a private diagnosis: “He’s a little autistic and it’s his first job.” (Inappropriate and unprofessional.) The manager came onsite 10 minutes later. He would not give his name or phone number. He offered to pull security footage but then claimed a senior manager had just texted him not to share it unless police requested it. My partner arrived, and only then did they begrudgingly file an internal report — which I had been requesting for hours. The police arrived and confirmed that since this occurred on private property, it's a civil matter. They filed a report for documentation. When I asked the manager for Wash N Roll’s insurance information, he refused. When I finally asked about a refund for the wash, the manager sarcastically asked if my car was clean (it wasn’t) and denied the refund, saying the service had been rendered. As of today (4/18), I have not received any follow-up. The initial repair estimate is $790.64, and that may increase once internal damage is assessed. I’ll also need to rent a car for 2–3 days while it’s being repaired. All told, this wash is going to cost me well over $1,000 — not including the time, stress, and complete lack of accountability. Save yourself the trouble. This business has no regard for customer safety, property, or service. DO NOT go to Wash N Roll Melrose.
