Do not trust them to bill your insurance correctly, they outsource billing to some firm in Florida. There are better dermatologists with competent billing and front office staff in Austin for basic medical appointments. I will never go back to Westlake Dermatology.
Not a good experience whatsoever. Always a pain to reach their staff. I told them my insurance ahead of time and they said they have absolutely no way to estimate what my cost would be for a standard mole removal. Ended up costing me $1400. I was worried about the healing and sent pics, they responded it looks fine. Then when I went to get stitches removed they said “yikes that looks bad and like you’re having a reaction to the stitches”. Ended up with a huge scar. I put on a payment plan and when I paid it off early, I had to call 3 times (including their offsite billing team) to try and get my auto pay turned off and card removed. Back and forth with billing team and office who finally confirmed I had a $0 balance, and then was auto charged anyway. So now I have to wait until Monday to call again for my refund.
I had an extremely negative experience at Westlake Dermatology Lamar Central with Dr. Amy Beckanich. I strongly advise against getting Sculptra treatments with this provider. I’ve had Sculptra injections several times in the past without any issues or bruising. However, during this appointment, the injections were placed far too deep, resulting in severe facial bruising that lasted over a week—so extensive it looked as if I had been in a serious accident. Four days after the procedure, I consulted with another experienced aesthetician who confirmed that the product was not administered properly and was injected too deeply. Even six days later, I was shocked by the extent of the bruising on my face. I had to cancel several things for the entire week because I had to let me face heal before I could attend anything. I would not recommend seeing Dr. Amy Beckanich for facial treatments.
Dr. Ali Shahbaz and team are fantastic to work with. He is incredibly knowledgable, has the best interests of the patient alway in mind, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for regular derma checkups. Thank you Dr Shahbaz and team for all that you do!
Do not go here. Plastic Surgeon, Dr.Constantinides, is very unprofessional and his work is subpar. I believe I was treated poorly because I am a young female. He was dishonest to my face about my broken nose , because he was not aware I was sent in by referral. Essentially called Dr.Mothersole a liar by dismissing all her diagnosis. Said I have body dysmorphia even though mine was very medically necessary (he should NOT be allowed to mention that at all, he is a surgeon not a psychiatrist). So just imagine what he really thinks about people looking to improve their look for non-medical reasons. After reading the referral he should've read before I got there...suddenly his second look he found my septum was in fact covering my nostril. Offered a closed septioplasty but at that point, it was scary how unprofessional everything was. EVEN THE LIGHTS EXPLODED during the pictures taken. Skin Envy was lovely for lip filler and microneedling, which I was also considering at Westlake. After my experience I am staying away. Look up your surgeons, you will see names constantly mentioned because of their good work. Dr.Constantinides was mentioned very scarcely and when mentioned the experience was negative. He is hardly mentioned well on social media as well unlike people like Dr.Antunes or Weinfeld. He will not give refunds if you post a negative review so look at the negative ones and how many likes there are on them- that is the vote of the silent ones who aren't posting their negative experience . Such a terrible experience and I was treated like a moron. Not sure what this was recommended to me but I am reaching out to ENT specialists of Austin to let them they are sending customers in for a subpar experience. Health and well-being is so important. If this is a place for only appearances and making money then make it clear and do not pair with an office that will send you customers like myself. Thank you for reading!
