I have been going here since they opened and loved it. However, the last time I went I was being pressured to buy a membership or 5 washes. Then after declining multiple times, I was asked to give a review for 5 stars. I am sure the guy was just doing his job so I wasn’t upset with him, but this was a turnoff. And based off the recent reviews, other people feel the same way.
Was basically forced to give a 5-star review of this place when I was trying to choose my carwash (before I actually received the carwash). I pulled up to the unattended screen to select my wash. Then as I got out my card out to pay, a man ran out waving, saying, "Let me help you! Let me help you!" I replied, "I'm just doing the basic wash today." He stands at my window and takes my card to swipe it on the screen for me, then says, "Now since I helped you, I need you to help me. I need you to scan this for a review." He holds a QR code in front of me. As I'm scanning, he looks at my phone and says, "Put a 5-star review." I should've said something like, "But I haven't even done my carwash yet. What if I'm not satisfied?" But I hadn't had enough coffee to think on my feet at that point. Instead, I'm just impatient and want to get my carwash and leave. I also don't feel like arguing with this pushy person, so I click the 5-stars with the intention of recounting my true review after my carwash. He then hands me an air freshener and says, "Now, you get this." I guess as a thank you (bribe?) for leaving a 5-star review? The carwash itself is good. I appreciate the complimentary vacuums and towels/cleaner for using afterwards. But PLEASE teach your staff some tact. I've been here before where they run outside just as you're about to pay at the screen and ask if you want to leave them a tip. I'd recommend that if you want staff to be interacting with the customers at the purchased point, turn off the screens and give them handheld iPads where they really do have to be the one helping the customer, rather than interrupting what I already started so that they can then ask for a tip or review.
Did anyone know that when you left the 5 star review they pressured you to make that they actually signed you up for a monthly membership… yeah you scan this QR code and it goes directly to your email leaving a google review but allegedly it activates membership. By the way was never told I was agreeing to activate a membership. I had an odd feeling about all of it so I went into the office to ask about why I was given a barcode and they told me it’s because you agreed to sign up for a membership. Like a lot of people who go to car washes I go to get a single wash. The staff was doing their best to be helpful working to cancel it. I believe they cancelled it although I’m not entirely sure I guess I’ll just check my credit card next month. The wash itself was fine but be honest and upfront with customers because monthly memberships are a re-occurring charge!! It’s not a one time charge. Advise everyone to check their credit card by the next month and see - hopefully it didn’t affect you but it’s always good to check in case it did.
Best Value — love the free, unlimited towels, vacuum, and cleaner… They’ll even washer rubber mats for you! And the people are very friendly and helpful! Huge shoutout to DALLAS!!! we got a dead battery while there, and he went straight to work, getting us back up and running with a great attitude, so thankful for his amazing friendliness & above and beyond customer service!
I love the staff that help me guide my car into the car wash. That always makes me nervous but they make it easy. I like that they have the amenities the vacuums, the all-purpose cleaner, window washer and the towels to use. The microfiber towels cuz you know they're the best. I always come here. And the monthly service is really a good deal if you like to take care of your car regularly! Thanks everybody at the Whitewater Express car Wash in Fairfax!
