We were looking for plants that could go in a fish tank. Although we did not find that, we found beautiful, healthy plants that were absolutely gorgeous. We walked into a room that looked like a rainforest and saw an employee that directed us to a few plants we hadn't considered. This plant could grow by the water, but not inside the tank. As she said, it liked to almost dry out between waterings... Aside from that we met the most beautiful cat that was so loving - my mother reached to pet it and it put it's paws on her shoulders and rubbed against her. SO SWEET! There were also 2 birds, a mostly blue macaw and one that was mostly red. Very pretty, but molting at the moment... so probably not as happy until that is over! LOL One of the employees fed one of them seeds while we watched, but I don't get as close to birds... the cat was lovely though. All the employees were very friendly and one offered to give my plant a drink before I took it home. The cost of the plants wasn't bad, it's like mom said, you pay for what you get. Sure, I could have gone to a box store and paid less, but Whitfills plants are so much healthier, and there is far more of a variety of plants than at a box store. They were busy even on a Friday afternoon, and they've been in the business forever. We've already planned to go back at Christmas - I'll be posting again then! Whitfield is one of those hidden gems you can't say enough good things about!
