a lovely vintage store with a great vibe. i was in search of a pair of black cowboy boots and after struggling with searching on my own, one of the owners went out of his way to grab multiple pairs to try on. on top of that, he gave me a significant discount to the boots that did fit me properly so they would work within my budget. next time i shop here i look forward to trying one of the drinks, but i really can't recommend this store enough due to the assortment of items and the kindness of the owners!
I’m officially obsessed with this place. I had a great lavender matcha, chatted with one of the owners for probably an hour and learned so much about Calgary/Alberta, shopped some of the best and well priced vintage western collections I’ve seen, got to try on some stunning turquoise from their collection, and added the most gorgeous vintage suede fringe coat to my collection. I’ll be back here every time I visit Calgary! Thanks so much WRV for being such great hosts!
Each time I come back from Wild Rabbit I think I should write a review about how much I love this place. Today I was thinking it really is time to share with the web and not just my friends how happy Wild Rabbit makes me. This vintage boutique has the most authentic western clothing and jewelry along with boho, rustic and prairie selections. The items in the store range from hand made treasures to historic brand names, all in amazing shape. I have personally purchased, multiple leather bags, sweaters, suit jackets, silk western shirts, vests, leather jackets that are so amazing I can’t believe I actually own them, silk scarves, and last but not least turquoise and silver jewelry that I am still in awe that I get to wear. Most of the pieces I buy I am also able to get some history on it’s origins which fills my heart. There is zero pressure from the amazing owners, Lianna and Mark, but they always have suggestions on items they think I might like and will go out of their way to make sure I am happy with my purchase. They are truly two of the nicest people I have ever met and I couldn’t be happier for them to see the store busy every time I am in the store. They also make some of the best lattes in town, which I found is a great way to entice a partner that may not be interested in shopping to make the trip to East Village with you. There is always the nicest selection of music playing, many times a local or up and coming artist with the opportunity to buy vinyl records in the store. They also support local artist, showcasing and selling their handmade items such as jewelry, soap, tea, honey and repurposed clothing; the variety is amazing. I never leave this store empty handed, and every item I buy I am complimented on. If this style of clothing or jewelry (or household items like a western photo frame or horse statue, which I haven’t even mentioned yet) are something you envision yourself in, do yourself a favour and go to Wild Rabbit; if this isn’t your style please still go and have a latte, I guarantee you will find something you love.
This place is the go-to spot for one-of-a-kind clothing pieces with history. Whether you’re gearing up for Stampede, skijoring, embracing western wear, or just looking for cool everyday pieces, this place has you covered. Everything is thoughtfully curated, the vibe is warm and welcoming, and the staff genuinely love what they do. A true gem for vintage lovers and western style seekers alike!
