Absolutely LOVE this place! The wine and charcuterie is always so yummy, the ambience is spectacular, and the people are always so kind. We loved being served by Maggie- such a sweetheart! Favorite place for a date night and will continue to keep coming!
Found a hidden gem in Raleigh! Had an amazing time tasting a variety of wine with friends. The service was incredible; Maggie gave us excellent recommendations and was extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend and will visit again!
Update: I initially reviewed this place as a 1 star (see below) but the owner took things seriously, emailed me and then called and we chatted through the experience. He is reaching out the manager to coach accordingly and asked me to loop him in on if I notice an improvement and wanted to genuinely make it right + not be a snobby feeling wine shop which I so appreciate. Nice that they cared I attempted to email vs posting a public review but the email wasn’t on the site and I don’t have social media. This is a good wine shop, knowledgeable, great location, amazing selection and awesome curated boxes…HOWEVER, in the past two weeks I’ve been in 3 times all for client thank you gifts. 1st time I bought a bottle, second time a 150 dollar gift card, and 3rd time I bought 12 bottles of wine. Every person I dealt with (chalked the first experience up as he was “having a bad day”) was ruder than the next and further, literally acted like I was inconveniencing them for what..shopping? I personally am not a huge drinker and have no clue what I’m looking at or for, so asking for advice or like hey, can I use a cardboard box vs a tote bc these are going to multiple people, etc - seemed to peeve whoever worked that day. The cashier today actually caught herself being rude and course corrected, after I simply inquired about how they come up with the 6pk boxes they choose? I love local shopping and live in walking distance to the shop, so it’s a shame that at 10am on a work day I continued to feel so unwelcome. Not sure why I attempted 3 times and am hopeful someone reads this to provide common kindness to all the customers that support you. We can go anywhere! Thx 🙏
Two of the wines we sampled from the self-serve tasting machines tonight were vinegar. I don’t mean that they weren’t my style or that they were low-quality wine. I mean that they had been open for so long that they had gone bad and smelled and tasted like vinegar. I brought it to the attention of a member of staff, who offered no apologies and no refunds, and she also didn’t seem particularly surprised by the fact that a wine store was serving spoiled wine as part of their tastings. I love the idea of a self-service wine tasting wall. I don’t love paying $2-4 for a 1 oz pour of spoiled wine vinegar.
I had a wonderful experience here! After a discouraging experience at a nearby shop, I decided to pop in for a glass of wine. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the person working. She was very friendly and warm, and helped me decide on a delicious glass of their dry rose on tap. I also ended up buying a bottle of an NA bottle of "wine" to share with a friend, and the other staff who rang me up was also kind. They seem to have a wide variety of wine and some beer to choose from as well! I love that they have the self-service tasting machines also! Great wine, personable and helpful staff! 10/10 recommend.
