Sylvia was amazing getting my daughter past her nerves to complete her singing performance. She is a wonderful teacher and focuses on building her confidence and enjoying the art of singing, which is why she wanted to take lessons in the first place.
My daughter has an incredible piano teacher and twice a year during recitals we are continuously impressed with the education and preparation that all the teachers put into their students at Winter Park Music Academy.
My daughter is showing interest in playing the piano, so we went to a try out class with Ms Sylvia. She had a great time, and at the moment I was considering signing her up, but I had questions and the receptionist Emily seemed either upset or unable to answer them. So I left, and figured I call back later, since I had two piano schools I was in contact with. Fast forward a couple of months, the same person Emily sends an email and a texts offering me to buy gift cards. I thought it was great at first because my daughter is only four and she needs more flexibility, until she starts in her music school when she turns five that we choose for her. Nowhere in the email, said I couldn’t gift to a family member or that have to give it to different people. Well when I decided to reach out, the same person once again, expresses herself in a very condescending manner, and on top says that in order to purchase these gift cards for my daughter, I would have to agree to basically sign a contract and pay another month on top of the gift cards, for whatever reason. I honestly find these “gotcha” type of practices distasteful, I think there're ways, to promote and sell to people, but this is not one of them. Gift cards are just that, not contracts. Given that this is the second time I have rude encounter with the same person, I declined it all. I leave this comment so others are aware of these type of practices, specially around the holidays, and to not feel pressured, as there’s always options out there. I hope this business does a better job treating customers in the future.
My 6 yr old granddaughter has recently begun guitar lessons with Sean, one of the instructors at Winter Park Music Academy. I take her each week and sit with her in the lessons. To begin with, she loves Sean. He makes the learning fun and geared well to her age. He makes a point to ask her about the particular music she likes and incorporates it into the lessons. Thank you, Sean!
We’ve had the best experience here. The instructors are wonderful and caring and the manager of the studio moves heaven and earth at regular intervals to accommodate our busy schedules and make lessons work for my kids. We’ve been going here for a year and they have shown great progress in their musical skills! We really recommend this place to all.
