Xen-do is one of the best kickboxing gyms I have ever trained at. Everyone is so friendly and really wants you to be your absolute best. The sensei’s take time to work with each individual even within a group class. The atmosphere is great and everyone is encouraged to work hard. Overall a lovely environment to train in.

Been training here for around a year and really love it. The senseis are extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable. I've done a mix of group classes, personal sessions, and sparring – always a great atmosphere.

I joined Xen-Do at Goodge Street for a trial class, and wow, it left me breathless and also legless for a couple of days! But what an incredible feeling afterwards. I haven’t stopped since and it is going to be a year. The training is super well-structured for all levels, and as a total beginner, I felt right at home. Each sensei brings something unique to the mat, and the community is so welcoming. It’s challenging, but each time you progress it is so rewarding. If you are unsure whether Xen-do is for you, trust me, it definitely is! Just try it…

Highly recommend Xen-Do to any one looking to get into martial arts. Senseis made me feel welcomed even as a novice. Will be coming back.

Absolute nonsense of a place that invented it's own belt system in kickboxing just so they can squeeze more money out of you. I went to Goodge Street, a small space where you can't walk a few paces without bumping into anyone, where the teaching was very repetitive. There's a coward working there called Paul who is all smiley smiley when he's persuading you to part with your money. But when you have concerns about the training or the dubious belt system he is too shy to talk to you and hides himself. Not just him, but everyone who works there is rude to customers, as described in other reviews. A woman eventually phoned me and said they will look into my concerns. But they still have an exploitative system where you pay more and more as you progress through their system. Edits: The business says I am a 'novice' and question how I am qualified to impugn their grading system. This explains their scornful attitude to anyone who asks questions. According to my friend who is a senior-level amateur boxer, kickboxing has no belts and the Xen Do system is designed to rip people off. The gym phoned me to say their staff were never rude, again contradicting facts and other previous reviews. If someone is treated badly, they have a right to post about it on a public platform to warn potential future victims. They called me tried to persuade me to take the review down without offering an apology for their behaviour and said she doesn't think 'her colleagues are rude people'. Of course she doesn't.
