Pretty decent for a ghost kitchen. It’s also known as Greek Street Gyros & Bowl on GrubHub. No serious complaints but it is a bit pricey.
I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with Uber Eats was frustrating enough that I wanted to give everyone a fair warning. First thing first, this is a ghost kitchen with no restaurant front. Ordered 2 chicken bowls and arrived with no chickens in both bowls, not even one piece. Uber Eats refunded $2 which is a joke on $17 bowl. Yes, that’s the $8 fries and $7 salad in the background. Extremely overpriced!! Spend your money somewhere else!
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share this. I ordered from this kitchen recently and ended up with what felt like full-blown food poisoning within 30 minutes of eating, I had intense diarrhea, and a few hours later developed chills and a fever. It completely derailed my day I can’t say for sure what exactly caused it, but I hadn’t eaten anything else that day and the timing was too specific to ignore. It’s frustrating to get sick and honestly dangerous given my condition. There was also a BOGO offer which now makes a lot more sense. Seems like they were trying to he to get rid of ingredients almost ready to go bad.
This is a ghost kitchen, not a real restaurant. The food was adequate but nothing special. French fries were mushy. The experience is clearly intended for online delivery, not customer pickup. There is no XENiA-specific signage whatsoever (because XENiA does not really exist), you walk into basically the back end of a commercial kitchen, where there is a small waiting room with electronic lockers. A crowd of angsty DoorDash drivers loiters, awaiting orders from countless faceless "restaurants" operating out of the same soulless kitchen. You scan a QR code, enter the order number, and then once the food is ready an assigned locker opens with your food inside. There is no customer-facing staff to interact with if you need anything or have issues. The online ordering didn't ask if we wanted utensils, none were provided, and there was nobody to request some from and none available. Fortunately I had some spare forks in the car. Also, the website advertises 20% off an order over $20, but it was impossible to actually get this discount in the cart. I also suspect if some of the other reviews here are legitimate... just read through them all and consider for yourself. There's much better food of this type available in Oakland. We wanted to try something new, and should've done our research. We won't be coming back.
I don't usually do this... but the food we had delivered from XENiA via Uber Eats was SO delicious I just had to go out of my way to make sure they got a shout out because credit is most certainly due. We ordered the Souvlaki Chicken Rice Bowl, each with different sides and boy was it delicious. The best value mediterranean food we've had in the Bay Area in quite a while!
