I've been practicing yoga for more than a decade so I've been a regular at many awesome studios, but YAM feels the most like home to me. The instructors go above and beyond to get to know their students and foster community, and Jade and Jen make sure there are always new and fun events to try. The classes range from gentle and supportive to challenging and athletic, and the vibes are always excellent! I'm so grateful to have this wonderful studio in my neighborhood.
YAM is a little hidden gem in Lake Highlands. They offer a wide range of yoga classes: pre/post natal yoga, gentle stretch, power vinyasa, Hatha, Katonah and strength class with Coach Dave! All the teachers here are well seasoned and very attentive to each student that walks in the door. The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. I love the local art hanging on the walls inside the studio and in the lobby. YAM promotes local artists in the Dallas area and rotates the artwork every few months and each piece is available for sale.
This studio has all the classes and more! I've learned about new (to me) types of yoga, discovered a HIIT class, been exposed to new artists, attended workshops, made new friends, and met great teachers. If you want a challenging class, try anything they offer on Saturday mornings. If you want a more relaxing experience, opt for the evening restorative classes. If you're curious and just want to explore, randomly pick an afternoon session. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. AND, the best part is that ALL the teachers are truly kind and want to make sure you are safe and supported. Thank you YAM for being here.
YAM is a great yoga studio! All the teachers are very knowledgeable, friendly, and there is a good variety of offerings on the schedule. It's very "come as you are" and you don't need to be super fit/flexible and wear the latest yoga clothes to fit in and feel good in class. Highly Recommend!
Downward Dog & Deadlifts with Jen Dertouzos and Coach Dave Goltl is the most brilliant fusion combo you never knew you needed! My coaching program calls for 5 gym days and 1 day of yoga and/or a fast-paced group class so this concept is EVERYTHING!! We stretch, we move, we challenge ourselves, and then we end in a relaxing, meditative space. The music is great and so are the vibes (yes, I said it). Jen and Dave have such great chemistry and humor together which fosters an exciting, communal atmosphere for you and your fellow classmates. Come as you are and let Dave and Jen guide you through this awesome class!
