I’m only in Gilbert for a work trip but I found Gem Studio on instagram and went to a silversmith workshop. Abby was my instructor and she was amazing! Guided me through the process and stayed way later than the workshop to help me finish my 2 projects! I decided to make a ring and a choker (like a giant bracelet). I’m literally obsessed with the finished products!! This is perfect for a date, a friends’ play date or even just trying a new fun thing alone. I wish I had one of these shops where I live. 11/10 recommend ☺️
I feel that the online advertising is a bit predatory. They advertised "BOGO" but only in the sound of the video is it mentioned as BOGO 1/2 OFF. Their websites are horrible to navigate. They claim that they have a large selection of gems to choose from, but I feel that was far from the case for this location. I asked if they had more gems in the back, thinking this can't be real, and they just apologized and said that's what they have. 🥲 Had I not brought my own stones to use, I probably would have have just forfeited my deposit with the cancelation fee. I'll attach a photo of the gem selection that they had in the shop. The first 15min of the shop experience was chaotic and even the instructors were all over the place, they kept switching people around. I could have swore when I was doing my research on this workshop, it was stated that you could make up to 3 items. For this class we were told 2 max per person. Thankfully they allowed me to use my own gems I brought and charged me a setting fee of $15 per gem. Overall, I would say the class is worth it but definitely bring your own gems unless you're okay with a small basic selection. I wanted to give this rating 3/4 stars but our instructor was very nice and informative and our pieces came out beautiful.
We had a great time doing the silversmith workshop with our amazing host and teacher Lauren!!! She was the sweetest and saw the vision through the whole process and even stayed late (almost 3 hours late to be exact) so we could finish our pieces!!! I highly recommend going if you want a fun and creative experience!!! I will be coming back and creating more soon❤️
If there was an option to leave a higher review i totally would! This was the coolest experience I’ve ever had. I booked my first appointment the day before Christmas Eve, and brought in a few stones of my own to try and bring the cost down. lol. But ofc we went all out making intricate designs with multiple gems. The girls there were so friendly and excited with what we were making. And they were so fun to talk to. Over all the best experience. We got a coupon for a free ring band and because we posted on our social we could get a mystery box I will say it’s not cheep but absolutely worth every cent!!!
I was in the area for vacation/birthday trip. I was going to make a hat for the occasion, but thankfully found Gem Studio instead. I walked in and the manager was there to answer questions and set me up with an appointment. She also held 2 stones for me since I couldn't make up my mind that day. The night of the shop it was low key. On a Thursday night. Only 3 people total in the shop. I had one instructor and the other two gals had an instructor. This was a great beginners class. I applied Flux and used the torch on the solder. Trimmed up the base of the ring. Made the split in the band. Everything is customizable. Some things are included. Some are extra. Base price was 75. Stones sold separately. I was extremely happy with my session. I made a piece thar I will have and wear. I have had it for a few days and have gotten several compliments on it.
