⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Masterclass in What a Jiu-Jitsu Gym Should Be I’ve had the privilege of training Jiu-Jitsu all over the country. Years of hard work and a bit of luck have allowed me to semi-retire and work remotely, which has given me the rare opportunity to explore gyms coast to coast with my teenage twins—a boy and a girl—who started this journey about five years ago. What began as a way to ease them into wrestling has turned into a lifestyle that shapes our routines, our travels, and our bond as a family. We’ve trained at dozens of gyms—some world-renowned, others hidden gems—and yet somehow, 10th Planet Stockton managed to stand out immediately. We wandered in on a whim when our usual stop in the area was closed for fight camp. What we found wasn’t just a gym—it was a community. A family, really. My daughter joined the girls’ class and had an absolute blast. I stayed for the adult class and ended up chatting with the coaches, who were not only talented martial artists but genuinely kind and intentional people. There’s something special about a gym where the leadership sets a tone that makes every visitor feel like they belong. Some gyms are technically sound but emotionally cold. Others are welcoming but disorganized. Very few manage to be both technically excellent and emotionally intelligent. 10th Planet Stockton nails both—effortlessly. As a father, there’s nothing more comforting than seeing your daughter walk off the mats glowing with joy, not just from learning, but from feeling safe, respected, and seen. That doesn’t happen by accident—it happens because coaches take the time to create that kind of space. That kind of culture. And at this gym, it’s obvious that it starts at the top and trickles all the way down. She left class already asking when we could come back. That kind of motivation doesn’t come from force—it comes from love. From trust. From real connection. And that’s what you’ll find here. Whether you’re a seasoned grappler or a curious parent considering your child’s first martial arts class, do yourself a favor: visit 10th Planet Stockton. Most gyms offer a free class, but this one offers something more—a reminder of why we fall in love with Jiu-Jitsu in the first place. Thank you to every coach and student who made us feel like family. You’ve got something rare and priceless here. We’ll be back the next time we’re in California, without question. With deep appreciation, —A proud dad, traveling high calorie grappler, and forever supporter of what you’re building in Stockton
