No repair was even attempted on our downstairs unit, and our upstairs unit failed to come on after the technician left! American Home Shield sent Air City AC to our home to repair our downstairs ac unit. The representative began immediately telling my husband that we needed a new system. My husband went with the technician to the outside unit where a burnt wire was disconnected. My husband asked the technician to replace the wire and he refused! The technician stated that the compressor was broken probably from a power surge and would need to be replaced along with all of the wiring. The company sent a report to American Home Shield stating the compressor and wiring needed to be replaced and that the system was old had been repaired many times, influencing AHS to deny the repair costs. Then Air City quoted us $3,900.00 to replace the compressor and wiring highly suggesting a new unit be purchased for $7,800.00. We hired a different company and after a short visit, both units were on and cooling! The technician that we hired found after replacing a small wire on our downstairs unit the unit came on and began cooking. The technician checked our upstairs unit and found the door to the furnace hadn’t been closed completely. He closed the furnace door and the ac came on and began cooking! You decide what to think. I can no longer trust anyone.
