Anyone in the mood for some real, authentic Mexican food, or drinks, should definitely visit Alejandro's! This location is outside of town, but even in the middle of the afternoon, there are people coming in for food! Highly recommend their tacos, but it went with a marinas burrito instead this trip. It did not disappoint with authentic seasoning and fresh ingredients!

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I got the wrong order. My wife and I came here 17Dec2025 about an hour before closing. The staff was very friendly, food came out hot and fast. I ordered a mega carne asada burrito ($18) and my wife got a regular carnitas burrito ($12) with the add ons such as sour cream, salsa ect it came out to like $30 bucks which is pretty normal here in Hawaii. When I took my first bite I realized they gave me carnitas instead of carne asada, it was pretty good! But my issue was that I didn’t get what I ordered and I was also charged an extra $4-$5 bucks for something I didn’t even want. Like I mentioned it was before closing so I didn’t get a chance to get it remade or anything.

Food was cold. Here’s another good business with lots of potential. Unfortunately, it’s not managed properly. Food was premade probably a few hours ago. If they will make their food fresh, meaning, cook them per order, not precooked them in advanced, the food will be fresh. They think because it’s been under a heating container it will keep it fresh. Meat needs to be juicy not dry and rubbery in order to be good. I was disappointed to say the least. Maybe if they change their way like “in n out “ burger in California, they will get more business. I’m n out burgers are made per orders and people wait for hours because it’s fresh. But if you’re cravings for Mexican food, there’s a wagon truck in Honolulu’s at the end of the airport. Waiwai train station fresh food always.

Hidden gem; best Mexican in the Pacific Ocean. Don't be scared by the outside or the fact it's not in a crazy over developed area. Allergy friendly. This is very much a hole in the wall place; there are two sides a take out side and an eat-in side with a bar. The food was delicious and authentic. The staff is friendly. Gluten free options and understanding of other allergies and willing to accommodate.

Three co-workers and I went to have lunch at Alejandro’s Tacos in Kalihi Valley. This was my first visit; the other three had gone there previously. We lucked out; there was a car pulling out as we arrived, so we scored a parking space. Serendipity! We sat in the bar next door. I started with a Corona ($6); what’s Mexican food without a Corona? Not happening, at least for me. The others were good with glasses of water. I ordered the #2 Taco Combo (a beef, a carnitas and a carne asada taco), Spanish rice and pinto beans ($16.50). Another ordered #3 Taco Combo (a carnitas and two carne asada tacos) with the Spanish rice and pinto beans ($17.50) and the others ordered the wet burrito combo plate ($16). We added two orders of chips and salsa ($6.75 each). Our orders came very quickly … The tacos were so flavorful. I poured salsa over my Spanish rice to moisten it; the pinto beans still retained their shape … not cooked down to become refried beans. I really liked my #2 combo. My only quibble is I would have wanted freshly fried tortilla chips. I think the ones we got were made somewhere else ... they reminded me of potato chips. Alejandro’s is a hidden gem … seek it out, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended!
